To provide an anti-rust composition having all of coatability, handleability of a film to be formed, and long-term rust resistance under severe conditions. Furthermore, it is an object to provide an anti-rust composition having all of coatability, handleability of a film to be formed, and long-term rust resistance under severe conditions, and containing a reduced amount of volatile organic solvent used. As a solution, an anti-rust composition containing a polybutene-based polymer, a wax having a melting point of 35? C. or higher, and a polyaniline-based polymer is provided.

FUNCTIONALIZED COPOLYMERS OF ISOOLEFINS AND DIOLEFINS AND THEIR USE AS COMPATIBILIZERS

Functionalized copolymers of isoolefins and conjugated diolefins, methods of preparing the copolymers, and their use as compatibilizers are disclosed. The diolefin monomer units of the co-polymer are modified at the CC double bond along the backbone of the copolymer to include an oxygen containing functional group such as epoxide, ester or alcohol. The functionalized copolymers improve the wettability of a non-hydrophilic surface towards hydrophilic polymer and allows for the formation of homogenous layers of the hydrophilic polymers. In particular, the spreading of a hydrophilic polymer on a non-hydrophilic substrate is facilitated by applying the co-polymers as an interfacial layer between the two incompatible materials. The resulting coated substrates exhibit resistance to protein adsorption and cell growth after grafting. The co-polymers are especially suited in the coating of biomedical devices where a high degree of uniformity of the coated surface is required.

A polymer film comprises a polymer composition containing (A) a cyclic olefin polymer and (B) a chlorine-containing polymer. The chlorine-containing polymer (B) may comprise a vinylidene chloride-series polymer. The cyclic olefin polymer (A) may comprise a cyclic olefin copolymer. The ratio of the chlorine-containing polymer (B) relative to 100 parts by weight of the cyclic olefin polymer (A) may be 0.5 to 60 parts by weight. The film has a moderate releasability from an electrolyte membrane and an electrode membrane of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell and a moderate adhesion to the electrolyte membrane and the electrode membrane and can adhere to a commonly-used substrate film without interposition of an adhesive layer such as an easily adhesive layer. The film is thus suitable as a release film for producing a membrane electrode assembly of a polymer electrolyte fuel cell.
