Waterborne coating composition useful for promoting adhesion to plastic surfaces
The waterborne coating composition herein is useful for promoting adhesion of paint to a component such as a plastic automobile part or accessory. The waterborne coating composition is particularly useful for promoting adhesion of paint to a thermoplastic polyolefin surface. The waterborne coating composition is prepared from a mixture comprising at least one chlorinated polyolefin resin and at least one urethane acrylic hybrid resin. The waterborne coating composition provides not only good adhesion of a paint to a thermoplastic polyolefin surface, but also provides good appearance. The waterborne coating composition is also compatible with a wide variety of paint systems and can be rapidly dried under ambient conditions.

Composite article having protective coating
A composite article includes a substrate and a protective coating on at least a portion of the substrate. The protective coating includes reinforcement particles dispersed within an elastomeric matrix that is modified with a silicon-containing modifier selected from polysilsesquioxane, polyhedral oligomeric silicate, polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS), and combinations thereof. The reinforcement particles are selected from carbon, nickel metal, and combinations thereof. The protective coating is multi-layered and includes a distinct first layer and a distinct second layer that is contiguous with the distinct first layer such that each of the distinct first layer and the distinct second layer have an exposed outer surface.
Copper complex titanium oxide dispersion liquid, coating agent composition, and antibacterial/antiviral member
A copper complex titanium oxide dispersion liquid includes: titanium oxide particles; and 0.1 to 20 parts by mass of cuprous oxide particles per 100 parts by mass of the titanium oxide particles. The dispersion liquid further includes: 5 to 100 parts by mass of phosphate ester-based anionic surfactant per 100 parts by mass of the titanium oxide particles and the cuprous oxide particles combined; and 300 to 2000 parts by mass of an organic solvent per 100 parts by mass of the titanium oxide particles and the cuprous oxide particles combined. The titanium oxide particles and the cuprous oxide particles have an average primary particle diameter of 2 nm to 80 nm and have an average secondary particle diameter of 50 nm to 150 nm as measured by dynamic light scattering using cumulant analysis. Moreover, 10 or more parts by mass of the titanium oxide particles are contained in 100 parts by mass of non-volatile matter content of the copper complex titanium oxide dispersion liquid.
LOW TEMPERATURE CURABLE MULTILAYER COATING SYSTEMS WITH EXCELLENT APPEARANCE
Disclosed herein are a multilayer coating system present on a substrate including at least three layers L1 to L3, layer L1 being obtained from a primer coating composition, which is obtained from a primer coating system including at least two components A) and B) separated from each other, where component A) inter alia includes at least one constituent a2), which is at least one (meth)acrylic polymer, which has been modified with at least one chlorinated polyolefin, where the polymer contains functional groups, that are reactive towards NCO-groups, layer L2 being obtained from a basecoat composition, and layer L3 being obtained from a clearcoat composition, a method of preparing a multilayer coating system making use of the aforementioned primer coating system, and a kit-of-parts including separated from one another at least the primer coating system and a clearcoat composition or a clearcoat system.
Heat-resistant coating composition
According to an aspect of the present disclosure, a heat-resistant coating composition includes: an inorganic filler which is iron (Fe)-based amorphous alloy powder having an amorphous phase and an average particle diameter of 0.5 m to 15 m; and a binder, where the coefficient of thermal expansion of the inorganic filler is lower than the coefficient of thermal expansion of the binder.
