The layer b includes a polymer including a polysiloxane structure. The polymer includes an acrylic acid component, an acrylic acid ester component, an acrylamide component, or a styrene component and has a particular polar group in a molecule thereof. There are also provided a composition for an insertion auxiliary tube capable of providing the insertion auxiliary tube, a set of the insertion auxiliary tube and an endoscope, an endoscope apparatus including the insertion auxiliary tube and an endoscope, and a method for producing the insertion auxiliary tube.
Laminate, surface-protected articles, and manufacturing method of the laminate
The invention of the present application is a laminate in which thermoplastic polyurethane is used, excellent antifouling and adhesion properties are obtained, and glue residue is minimized. The laminate is provided with a substrate film formed from thermoplastic polyurethane, and an adhesive layer formed on one surface side of the substrate film. The substrate film has a surface layer on the opposite side of the first surface, a mixture of the thermoplastic polyurethane and a curable resin composition being present in the surface layer. The content ratio of the curable resin composition is configured so as to gradually decrease from the surface of the surface layer towards the interior of the substrate film. The curable resin composition contains at least one fluorine compound selected from the group consisting of fluorosilsesquioxane and fluorosilsesquioxane polymers, and a curable resin. The adhesive layer has a surface roughness of 350-750 nm.
DURABLE PHOTOPOLYMERIZABLE CROSS-LINKED ANTI-FOULING COATINGS
Durable, anti-fouling, crosslinked zwitterionic coatings that are grafted to the surface of a substrate through covalent bonding are disclosed. When exposed to a light source, zwitterionic monomers react with a crosslinker and with activated radicals at the surface of the substrate, simultaneously forming the crosslinked zwitterionic coating and anchoring it to the surface of the substrate. Photomasking techniques can be used to micropattern the zwitterionic coatings. The zwitterionic coatings can be applied to a variety of substrates, including medical devices and systems.
WATER SWELLABLE CROSSLINKED ELASTOMER AND METHOD OF PREPARATION
A water swellable cross-linked elastomer and method of preparation is provided. The elastomer can advantageously be included in skin treatment compositions. Swellable elastomers in accordance with the invention are particularly well suited for inclusion in skin tightening cosmetic products. The elastomers can be formulated to form a film. When applied to skin, an elastomer in accordance with preferred embodiments of the invention can adhere to the skin and shrink as it dries. This can provide a skin tightening, lifting and wrinkle smoothening effect upon drying. This effect can temporarily mask the appearance of wrinkles.
AQUEOUS DISPERSION OF POLYMERIC COMPOSITE MICROSPHERES
The present invention relates to a composition comprising an aqueous dispersion of polymeric composite microspheres comprising an aqueous dispersion of polymeric composite microspheres that comprise a polysiloxane and a polymer, as defined herein, and a suspension polymerization process for making the composition. The composition is useful for making defect free coatings with a relatively low coefficient of friction.
Modified silicone coating composition
Coating compositions comprising a reaction product of components comprising a silicone comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated group and at least one monomer polymerizable with the ethylenically unsaturated group are disclosed as are substrates comprising the same.
Modified silicone coating composition
Coating compositions comprising a reaction product of components comprising a silicone comprising at least one ethylenically unsaturated group and at least one monomer polymerizable with the ethylenically unsaturated group are disclosed as are substrates comprising the same.
Organocopolymer dispersions
Aqueous dispersions of copolymers of ethylenically unsaturated monomers and silicone resins bearing functional groups which are free radically polymerizable are prepared by forming an aqueous miniemulsion of the silicone resin dissolved in an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, the miniemulsion having a D.sub.50 droplet size <350 nm, and polymerizing using a free radical polymerization initiator.
METHOD FOR MAKING COATED SILICONE HYDROGEL CONTACT LENSES
The invention is generally related to a method for producing coated silicone hydrogel contact lenses each of which has a hydrogel coating thereon and a relative high resistance to uptakes of polycationic antimicrobials as characterized by having a polyquaternium-1-uptake of less than 0.40 micrograms/lens. The hydrogel coating is formed by covalently attached a hydrophilic polymeric material onto a base coating of a polyanionic polymer on a SiHy contact lens. In this method, lower polyquaternium-1-uptake is achieved by using a rinse solution with a higher pH and/or a higher ionic strength (higher salt concentration) for rinsing a treated silicone hydrogel contact lens with a base coating of polyanionic polymer.
