In Formula (1), A denotes a group having a polycarbonate skeleton, and n and m are average values and are numbers satisfying n≥2 and n−m>0. The group A in Formula (1) is a group in which all hydroxyl groups are removed from the structural formula of a polycarbonate polyol having a number average molecular weight from 300 to 10000, and preferably includes a group having a repeating unit represented by Formula (a) below.

The present invention relates to a surface treatment composition comprising, on the basis of 100 wt % of the solid part of the composition, 20-40 wt % of a water-soluble polyurethane resin, 40-60 wt % of a silane-based sol-gel resin in which three types of silane compounds are cross-linked, 5-15 wt % of a curing agent, 0.5-1.5 wt % of a corrosion inhibitor, 0.1-1.0 wt % of a molybdenum-based compound, 1.0-3.0 wt % of a silane coupling agent; 1.0-2.0 wt % of an organometallic complex, 1.0-2.0 wt % of an acid scavenger, 0.1-1.0 wt % of an aluminum-based compound, and 1.0-2.0 wt % of a lubricant. A ternary hot-dip galvannealed steel sheet treated with a chromium-free surface treatment coating agent, according to an exemplary embodiment in the present invention, has excellent resistance to blackening, alkali and corrosion, and provides excellent effects without concern for problems, in chromium treatment, of additional equipment installation, an increase in manufacturing costs and environmental pollution.

Provided is a polycarbonate polyol used as a raw material of a polyurethane that yields a polyurethane solution having good storage stability and exhibits excellent flexibility and solvent resistance. This polycarbonate polyol is a polycarbonate diol that includes structural units represented by the following Formulae (A) and (B), wherein, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and, in this range of the number of carbon atoms, optionally have an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, a nitrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a substituent containing these atoms; and R.sup.3 represents a linear aliphatic hydrocarbon having 3 or 4 carbon atoms. The curable photochromic compositions have an equivalents ratio of carbodiimide equivalents of the polycarbodiimide to a total carboxylic acid equivalents of the first and optional second carboxylic acid functional materials of from 0.5:1 to 10:1 when the second carboxylic acid functional material is not present; and from 0.5:1 to 3:1 when the second carboxylic acid functional material is present. The invention is characterized in that the polyol component A) comprises at least one polyester polyol A1) that has been produced using a 2,2,4,4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1,3-diol (TACD) of the general formula (I), in which independently of one another the groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 represent linear or branched alkyl groups with up to 8 carbon atoms. The invention additionally relates to the use of the coating agents and to substrates which are coated with the coating agents according to the invention.
