WEATHERABLE AND DURABLE COATING COMPOSITIONS
A curable coating composition is provided having multi-functionalized acrylic copolymer and amino-functional silicone resin curing agents. The acrylic copolymer of the curable coating composition has, in polymerized form, epoxy functionalized groups and cure compatibility groups and the amino-functional silicone resin is an alkoxy functional siloxane, which optionally is derived from sterically hindered alcohol-amine precursor moieties. The coating compositions are useful in the field of superior weatherable and durable coatings and are useful to replace isocyanate-containing polyurethane based coatings. Also provided are coated articles produced from the curable composition.

SLIDING MEMBER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A sliding member which has low sliding resistance, can prevent the leakage of a liquid, has low dust emission properties and low leachability, and can be manufactured in a simple manner; and a method for manufacturing the sliding member. The sliding member includes an elastic molded body which is coated with a coating layer composition containing an amino-modified silicone compound having a silanol group and/or an alkoxysilyl group and also having an amino-containing group in a side chain. The method for manufacturing the sliding member includes the steps of: preparing the coating layer composition containing the amino-modified silicone compound having the silanol group and/or the alkoxysilyl group and also having the amino-containing group in a side chain; applying the coating layer composition to the elastic molded body; and coating the elastic molded body with the coating layer composition.

SURFACE MODIFYING COATING FOR MEDICAL DEVICES
A surface modifying coating for an article that includes a first component having a surface in frictional engagement with a surface of a second component. At least a portion of a surface of one of the components is coated with a coating including a mixture of at least two silicones: (i) a hydrolyzable organopolysiloxane with a viscosity of less than or equal to 1,000 centistokes and that is capable of crosslinking reaction upon exposure to moisture at ambient temperature; and (ii) a second organopolysiloxane copolymerizable with the first hydrolyzable organopolysiloxane and having viscosity of greater than or equal to 5,000 centistoke; wherein the coating provides a maximum break loose force equal to or less than three times a kinetic extrusion force such that stiction is reduced between engaged surfaces. The coating is compatible with high-temperature sterilization methods sometimes used on articles for medical uses, is resistant to leaching, migration and breakdown during long-term aging conditions, and does not require a catalyst, crosslink agent, or additional energy source for preparation or application.
