AMPHIPHILIC BLOCK COPOLYMER AND COATING ARRANGEMENT
The disclosure relates to an amphiphilic block copolymer comprising a first block consisting of a polymeric hydrophilic domain, wherein the polymeric hydrophilic domain consists of a polyglycerol; an optional second block consisting of a hydrophobic domain and a first linker domain, wherein the second block is covalently bound to the first block via the first linker domain, an optional third block consisting of a catechol domain and a second linker domain, wherein the third block is covalently bound to the first block via the second linker domain; and a fourth block consisting of a crosslinking domain and a third linker domain, wherein the fourth block is covalently bound to the first block via the third linker domain, wherein the crosslinking domain comprises a reactive residue enabling a crosslinking between individual molecules of the amphiphilic block copolymer.
ANTIBACTERIAL AND ANTIVIRAL COMPOSITION
The present invention aims to provide an antibacterial and antiviral composition capable of exhibiting antibacterial and antiviral properties in a short period of time and excellent in handleability and safety. The present invention also aims to provide antibacterial and antiviral particles, a processed fabric, a coating material for a processed coating film, a processed coating film, a coating material for a UV-cured coating film, and a UV-cured coating film each prepared using the antibacterial and antiviral composition. Provided is an antibacterial and antiviral composition containing an antibacterial and antiviral polymer compound, the polymer compound being an amino group-containing polymer.
MINERAL WOOL INSULATION
A method of manufacturing a mineral fibre thermal insulation product comprises the sequential steps of: Forming mineral fibres from a molten mineral mixture; Spraying a substantially formaldehyde free binder solution on to the mineral fibres, the binder solution comprising: a reducing sugar, an acid precursor derivable from an inorganic salt and a source of nitrogen; Collecting the mineral fibres to which the binder solution has been applied to form a batt of mineral fibres; and Curing the batt comprising the mineral fibres and the binder which is in contact with the mineral fibres by passing the batt through a curing oven so as to provide a batt of mineral fibres held together by a substantially water insoluble cured binder.
BINDERS
An un-reacted substantially formaldehyde free curable binder solution for binding loose mutter consists essentially of a solution obtainable by dissolving a reducing sugar, an ammonium salt acid precursor, optionally a carboxylic acid or a precursor thereof and optionally ammonia in water.
DEVICE AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR THE SAME
A device includes a substrate and a hydrophilic polymer layer made of a hydrophilic polymer having a hydroxyl group. The hydrophilic polymer layer having a hydroxyl group is fixed to at least a part of a surface of the substrate and the hydrophilic polymer further has an amide group. A liquid film retention time of the device is 15 seconds or more. The device has a surface of a substrate which is hydrophilized. A method for producing the device by a simple method is also disclosed.
ONE-COMPONENT TYPE PAINT COMPOSITION WITH SUPERIOR SCRATCH RESISTANCE
Embodiments relate to a one-component type paint composition with superior scratch resistance and secures excellent scratch restoring performance by including a resin, a curing agent, a curing catalyst and an organic solvent, whereby the resin includes: 30 to 70 wt % of a carbamate group-containing acrylic polyol resin; and 5 to 25 wt % of a hyperbranched structure carbamate group-containing polyester polyol resin, based on 100 wt % of the paint composition.
Water dispersible hyperbranched polymer composition
There is provided a composition comprising: (i) a hyperbranched polymer having peripheral reactive groups comprising epoxy functional groups and hydroxyl functional groups; and (ii) a compound having one or more hydrophilic functional groups, wherein the amount of epoxy functional groups relative to the total number of peripheral reactive groups does not render the hyperbranched polymer from being indispersible in an aqueous solvent. There is also provided a method of preparing the same and uses thereof.
Method for Providing a Substrate with an Antimicrobial Coating, and Coated Substrates Obtainable Thereby
The invention relates to the field of antimicrobial materials, in particular to implantable and other medical devices exhibiting antimicrobial activity. Provided is a method for providing a substrate with an antimicrobial coating by immobilizing a quaternary ammonium compound onto the surface of said substrate, comprising the polycondensation of AB.sub.2 monomers comprising a secondary amine as A-group and blocked isocyanates as B-groups to obtain a low number average molecular weight polyurea of at least 2500 Da, contacting said polyurea with a surface grafted with coupling agent to covalently anchor the polyurea, and continuing polycondensation to obtain a hyperbranched polyurea coating; followed by immobilizing onto said coating a hydrophobic N-alkylated polyethylenimine (PEI) having antimicrobial properties.
