This disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods related to dual switchable adhesives, the manufacture thereof, and the use thereof. An exemplary dual switchable adhesive includes one or more polymers, photo initiators configured to cause the one or more polymers to cross-link responsive to receiving light, and polymerization initiators configured to cause the one or more polymers to cross-link responsive to receiving moisture.

A liquid curable silicone adhesive composition is provided. The composition is generally storage stable as a one-part composition at room temperature, can primarily cure at room temperature in the presence of moisture, and can secondarily cure at high temperatures, and can form a strong adhesive layer on a substrate or member. The liquid curable silicone adhesive composition comprises: a curable reactive organopolysiloxane which has a radical reactive group and a condensation reactive group in the same molecule or throughout the mixture; a condensation reaction catalyst; an organic peroxide; an adhesion imparting agent; and a crosslinkable silane. Herein, regarding the storage modulus (G′.sub.1) of a cured product obtained by primarily curing the composition in the presence of moisture approximately at room temperature, along with the storage elastic modulus (G′.sub.2) of a cured pro duct obtained by curing the composition, the increase rate (Δ) of the storage elastic modulus is at least 50%.

An adhesive material that provides fast and robust adhesion on wet surfaces, where the adhesion formed is detachable on-demand. The adhesive material is formed of one or more hydrophilic polymers or copolymers grafted with one or more amine coupling groups via a plurality of cleavable physical bonds and/or cleavable covalent bonds and one or more cross linkers. Application of the adhesive material on a wet surface causes the adhesive material to absorb liquid to thereby swell the adhesive material to form a layer of hydrogel, resulting in the formation of temporary crosslinks followed by covalent crosslinks with the surface. Introducing a triggering agent cleaves the cleavable physical bonds and/or cleavable covalent bonds to allow for non-traumatic detachment of the adhesive material from the surface.

An adhesive material that provides fast and robust adhesion on wet surfaces, where the adhesion formed is detachable on-demand.
