CATIONIC POLYSACCHARIDE-BASED PRIMARY COATINGS FOR HYDROPHOBIC SURFACES
The instant invention relates to primary coating compositions that comprises a cationic polysaccharide, to be applied on a hydrophobic surface before a subsequent application of a polar or water based coating composition, such a as a paint or an adhesive.
Abradable Dimensionally Stable Preparation Containing Platelet-Shaped Particles
The invention relates to a dimensionally stable preparation which can be abraded on flat materials, containing a translucent water-based polymer-containing carrier composition and platelet-shaped solid particles. The platelet-shaped solid particles have an average maximum diameter ranging from 2 to 40 m and are contained in the preparation in a proportion by volume specified by the selected particle size in order to achieve a sheen which is clearly perceptible to the human eye while simultaneously having good abrasion properties. In a sub-aspect of the invention, the preparations according to the invention further have adhesive properties such that the abraded film is best suited for securing flat decorative elements or generally for adhering flat porous materials.

PREGELATINIZED STARCH WITH MID-RANGE VISCOSITY, AND PRODUCT, SLURRY AND METHODS RELATED THERETO
Disclosed are product (e.g., panels), slurry, and methods relating to a pregelatinized starch having a mid-range viscosity (i.e., from about 20 centipoise to about 700 centipoise), and an extruded pregelatinized starch.
Use of polypropylene oxide or ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymers in combination with starch ether derivatives as additive in dry mortar compositions
The use of an adhesion-promoting additive combination composed of one or more polyalkylenoxides out of the group comprising polypropylene oxides and ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymers, and of one or more starch ether derivatives out of the group comprising carboxyalkyl starch ethers and their alkali salts, and hydroxyalkyl starch ethers, in mortar compositions comprising mineral binders and water-redispersible polymer powders.
