Hot melt adhesive

A hot melt adhesive material and articles made using the hot melt adhesive to assemble structures in an article. The adhesive material typically is manufactured by blending amorphous polymer with a heterophase polymer having crystallinity into an adhesive composition.

PERFORMANCE ADHESIVE FOR SECURITY DOCUMENTS

An adhesive suitable for use in security documents (for example, currency, passports, tickets, etc.) includes a plurality of polymers, that collectively exhibit tackification, resistance to aqueous agents, and solvent resistance, and a cross-linker selected to be activated to chemically react with one or more polymers of the plurality of polymers, at a temperature in a predetermined range of temperatures.

Amorphous propylene-ethylene copolymers

Amorphous propylene-ethylene copolymers are described herein that can include high amounts of ethylene and exhibit desirable softening points and needle penetrations. The desirable combinations of softening points and needle penetrations in these propylene-ethylene copolymers allow them to have a broad operating window. Due their broad operating window, the propylene-ethylene copolymers can be utilized in a wide array of applications and products, including hot melt adhesives.

The invention provides a method of dismantling an adhesion structure including a pair of adherends made of the same material or different materials and a dielectric adhesive sheet interposed between the pair of adherends and bonding the pair of adherends to each other. The method includes: a first step of heating the dielectric adhesive sheet by dielectric heating; and a second step of applying an external force to at least one of the pair of adherends or the dielectric adhesive sheet to separate the pair of adherends from the dielectric adhesive sheet.
