Amorphous propylene-ethylene copolymers
A low molecular weight copolymer is provided comprising propylene and ethylene, wherein the low molecular weight copolymer has a softening point in the range of 90 to 140 C., wherein the low molecular weight copolymer has a needle penetration that is equal to y, wherein y is defined by the following formula:
y0.000000262249x.sup.6+0.000172031278x.sup.50.046669720165x.sup.4+6.701746779438x.sup.3537.286013331959x.sup.2+22,802.983472587x400,204.018086126 wherein x in the above formula is the softening point of the low molecular weight copolymer, and wherein the low molecular weight copolymer has a molecular weight polydispersity index of about 3 to about 25, a crystallinity of about 18% to about 30% measured by X-Ray diffraction, and a Brookfield viscosity in the range of about 1000 to about 4000 cp at 190 C. measured by ASTM D 3236. Adhesive compositions comprising the low molecular weight copolymer are also provided.
HOT MELT ADHESIVE WITH NON-HYDROGENATED HIGH SOFTENING POINT C5 TACKIFYING AGENT
The invention includes a hot melt adhesive composition including a single-site catalyzed propylene-based polymer that has a co-monomer content of from 0% by weight to 20% by weight and a Brookfield Viscosity at 190 C. of no greater than 25,000; and a non-hydrogenated C5 tackifying agent having a softening point of from 98 C. to around 130 C. The adhesive composition has been found to give a good balance of static peel strength and dynamic peel strength when used as a construction adhesive in a disposable absorbent article.
Hot melt adhesive
A hot melt adhesive material and articles made using the hot melt adhesive to assemble structures in an article. The adhesive material typically is manufactured by blending amorphous polymer with a heterophase polymer having crystallinity into an adhesive composition.

Water borne polyolefin dispersion coatings, and methods of making
The present invention provides aqueous polyolefin dispersion compositions for use in metal coatings, such as can coatings, comprising one or more polyolefin base polymer, one or more at least partially neutralized olefinic stabilizing agent having an acid number (AN) of from 80 to 250, preferably, a polyolefin stabilizing agent, such as an olefin-carboxylic acid copolymer or a blend of two such polymers, an optional coupling agent having an acid number (AN) of from 10 to 70 and a melt index of from 500 to 5,000,000 grams of polymer melt passing in 10 minutes through a heated syringe or cylinder at 190 C. with a plunger loaded with 2.16 kg, preferably, a polymer, and a hindered phenolic antioxidant containing an ester linkage dispersed in the polyolefin dispersion composition. The hindered phenolic antioxidant containing an ester linkage can be masterbatched with a polyolefin base polymer, polyolefin stabilizing agent or a coupling agent which is a polymer, melt mixed with the remaining polyolefin composition and then dispersed with aqueous media and a neutralizing agent to form the aqueous dispersion.
