Provided is adhesive resin compositions comprising (A) 30 to 70% by mass of an acid-modified polypropylene-based resin; (B) 20 to 60% by mass of a polypropylene-based resin; and (C) 2 to 20% by mass of a copolymer of ethylene and one or more kinds of comonomers selected from the group consisting of vinyl acetate, alkyl methacrylate, and alkyl acrylate, with the proviso that the sum of the percentages of the above component (A), the above component (B), and the above component (C) is 100% by mass.

The present invention is related to an adhesive composition comprising a 50-95 wt % polymer blend and a tackifier. The blend has a first and second propylene-based polymer, both different homopolymers of propylene or a copolymer of propylene and ethylene or a C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 alpha-olefin. The blend has a melt viscosity, measured at 190 C., of 1,000 to 30,000 cP and a crystallization temperature of greater than 60 C. The tackifier has a softening point of 85 C. to 105 C., an aromaticity of 5 mol % to 15 mol % aromatic protons, and a Cloud Point of 45 C. to 75 C.

AMORPHOUS PROPYLENE-ETHYLENE COPOLYMERS

Adhesive compositions comprising the low molecular weight copolymer are also provided.

HOT MELT ADHESIVES AND USES THEREOF

The disclosure relates to adhesive compositions comprising a semi-crystalline olefin polymer or copolymer and a functional wax, functional olefin polymer, or mixture thereof. These compositions are useful as, for example, adhesives in disposable articles such as diapers, adult incontinence articles, underpads, personal care garments, and the like.

METAL PIPES WITH ANTICORROSIVE POLYOLEFIN COVERING LAYER

The present invention provides a metal pipe coated on at least a section of the metal pipe with a polyolefin coating system, wherein the system consists of the following layers: (a) optionally, a corrosion protective layer of a chromate, phosphate or other salt; (b) a polyolefin based adhesive, preferably in a thickness of 0.3-5 mm; (c) a PE or PP coating layer, preferably in a thickness of 1-10 mm; (d) optionally, an adhesion promoting layer between the polyolefin based adhesive and a PE or PP layer; wherein the polyolefin based adhesive contains an organic phase consisting of substantially saturated hydrocarbons, and wherein the adhesive contains amorphous polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymers or poly(iso)butylene (co)polymers, said adhesive being flowable when a pressure of 10 kgf/cm.sup.2 is applied, wherein the PE or PP coating is a continuous layer over the coated section, and wherein said polyolefin based adhesive adheres to both the metal pipe and to said PE or PP coating.

Provided are a hot-melt adhesive having high flowability in a molten state and exhibiting high adhesion strength in bonding PP nonwoven fabrics and further exhibiting high adhesion strength in bonding PE film-PP nonwoven fabric, and a base polymer for a hot-melt adhesive. The hot-melt adhesive contains (A) a propylene-based polymer satisfying the following (Ai) to (Aiv), and (B) an olefin-based copolymer satisfying the following (Bi) and (Bii); and the base polymer for a hot-melt adhesive consists of a mixture of (A) a propylene-based polymer satisfying the following (Ai) to (Aiv) and (B) an olefin-based copolymer satisfying the following (Bi) and (Bii) and satisfies the following (1) and (2). (Ai) the melting point is 120 C. or lower, (Aii) the Mw is 10,000 to 150,000, (Aiii) the Mw/Mn is 2.5 or less, (Aiv) the penetration is 8 or less, (Bi) the penetration is 15 or more, (Bii) the melting point is 90 C. or higher, (1) the tensile elastic modulus at 23 C. is 400 MPa or less, and (2) the semi-crystallization time at 23 C. is 20 minutes or less.
