In particular, the present invention relates to adhesives that are suitable for use in polymer-to-metal, for example elastomer-to-metal, such as rubber-to-metal bonding applications, wherein the adhesives comprise at least one halogenated polyolefin, at least one epoxysilane having at least one terminal alkoxy silane group, at least one bis-silane, and optionally at lease one organic solvent.

POLYOLEFIN-BASED ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
Provided is an adhesive composition comprising a modified polyolefin and an epoxy resin, the composition having excellent pot life, and excellent adhesion to both a metal substrate and a polyolefin resin substrate. The adhesive composition comprises a modified polyolefin (A), a glycidyl amine-type epoxy resin (B1), a glycidyl ether-type epoxy resin (B2), and an organic solvent (C); wherein the modified polyolefin (A) is (A1) or (A2) below: (A1): a crystalline acid-modified polyolefin having an acid value of 5 to 50 mg KOH/g-resin; or (A2): an acid-modified chlorinated polyolefin having an acid value of 5 to 50 mg KOH/g-resin and a chlorine content of 5 to 40 mass %.
POLYOLEFIN-BASED ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
Provided is an adhesive composition comprising a modified polyolefin and an epoxy resin, the composition having excellent pot life, and excellent adhesion to both a metal substrate and a polyolefin resin substrate. The adhesive composition comprises a modified polyolefin (A), a glycidyl amine-type epoxy resin (B1), a glycidyl ether-type epoxy resin (B2), and an organic solvent (C); wherein the modified polyolefin (A) is (A1) or (A2) below: (A1): a crystalline acid-modified polyolefin having an acid value of 5 to 50 mg KOH/g-resin; or (A2): an acid-modified chlorinated polyolefin having an acid value of 5 to 50 mg KOH/g-resin and a chlorine content of 5 to 40 mass %.
Adhesives comprising grafted isobutylene copolymer
An adhesive composition is described comprising a tackifier and at least one grafted isobutylene copolymer. The grafted isobutylene copolymer has the formula: R.sup.1(R.sup.2Z) wherein R.sup.1 represents an isobutylene copolymer, R.sup.2 is a covalent bond or multivalent alkylene or arylene, and Z is a grafted polymer. Z is typically a homopolymer of copolymer comprising alkene repeat units, aralkylene repeat units, or a combination thereof. Also described are adhesive coated articles, methods of making adhesive coated articles, and grafted isobutylene polymers.
Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive
To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive which has sufficient adhesive strength under a variety of conditions to a base material having a low surface energy. Resolution Means: A pressure-sensitive adhesive that contains a tacky adhesive polymer and a chlorinated polyolefin, wherein a heat of fusion of the chlorinated polyolefin is 0 to 5 J/g, and a content of chlorine in the chlorinated polyolefin is 16 to 25 mass %.
ELECTROSTATIC CHUCK WITH REDUCED CHARGE INJECTION INTO DIELECTRIC LAYER
An electrostatic chuck device having reduced charge injection may include a dielectric layer, a bonding layer, an electrode layer, and an isolator layer, the bonding layer being located between the dielectric layer and the electrode layer, the electrode layer being located between the bonding layer and the isolator layer, and the electrode layer does not directly contact the dielectric layer. The bonding layer comprises a non-electrically conductive polymeric material that covers the electrode layer such that a surface roughness of an upper surface of the bonding layer is less than a surface roughness of an upper surface of the electrode layer. The electrostatic chuck device may also include a charge barrier layer located between the bonding layer and the electrode layer to further reduce a surface roughness of the bonding layer as compared to the electrode layer. The reduced surface roughness reduces charge injection from the electrode layer.
