Provided are reinforcing tape for a flat cable, which can maintain sufficient adhesive force for a long time in a high-temperature, high-humidity environment, and a flat cable that uses this reinforcing tape for a flat cable. The present invention provides a reinforcing tape for a flat cable, the reinforcing tape including a base layer containing a resin as a main component, and an adhesive layer stacked on one side of the base layer, in which the adhesive layer contains a thermoplastic resin and a polycarbodiimide compound, and the polycarbodiimide compound contains an isocyanate group. The content of the polycarbodiimide compound relative to 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin is preferably 0.5 parts by mass or more and 10 parts by mass or less. The polycarbodiimide compound preferably further contains an alicyclic structure.

The present invention relates to a polyol comprising a) at least one dimer fatty residue selected from a dimer fatty diacid residue and a dimer fatty diol residue; and b) at least one residue of a linear or branched C17 to C32 dicarboxylic acid or diol; wherein the polyol comprises at least two hydroxyl end groups. The invention also relates to a a polyurethane comprising the polyol, the use of the polyol and a method of making the polyurethane.

The present invention relates to non-toxic, biodegradable adhesive compositions comprising the reaction product of a linear dicarboxylic acid, a saturated triol, and an aromatic amino acid. In certain embodiments, the adhesive compositions comprise the reaction product of sebacic acid terminated-poly(ethylene glycol), glycerin, and L-DOPA. The present invention also relates to methods of using the adhesive compositions for the closure of various wounds. Further, the present invention provides surgical closure devices comprising an adhesive composition.
