Medical adhesives for stopping heavy bleeding and sealing leakages
The present invention relates to a method that includes providing a formulation having an isocyanate-functional prepolymer and a curing component comprising an amino-functional aspartic ester of the general formula (I) ##STR00001##
applying the formulation to a cell tissue; and curing the formulation such that the loss of blood (haemostatic) or tissue fluids is staunched or leaks in cell tissues are sealed.
URETHANE ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
An object of the present invention is to provide a urethane adhesive composition having excellent initial adhesiveness and excellent adhesion durability. The present invention is a urethane adhesive composition containing a urethane prepolymer (A) having an isocyanate group, an isocyanate compound (B) having an isocyanurate structure and an isocyanate group, and an adduct of a compound represented by Formula (X) below (in Formula (X), R.sup.11 and R.sup.12 each independently represent a hydrocarbon group) and a phenol compound.

Polymeric Material Including a Uretdione-Containing Material, an Epoxy Component, and an Accelerator, Two-Part Compositions, and Methods
The present disclosure provides a polymeric material including a polymerized reaction product of a polymerizable composition including components and has a solids content of 90% or greater. The components include a uretdione-containing material including a reaction product of a diisocyanate reacted with itself; a first hydroxyl-containing compound; an optional second hydroxyl-containing compound having a single OH group; an epoxy component; and an accelerator. The first hydroxyl-containing compound has more than one OH group and the optional second hydroxyl-containing compound is a primary alcohol or a secondary alcohol. The present disclosure also provides a two-part composition, in which a polymeric material is included in the first part and the second part includes at least one thiol-containing compound. Further, a method of adhering two substrates is provided, including obtaining a two-part composition; combining at least a portion of the first part with at least a portion of the second part to form a mixture; disposing at least a portion of the mixture on a first substrate; and contacting a second substrate with the mixture disposed on the first substrate. The disclosure also provides a polymeric material and a method of making a two-part composition. Advantageously, two-part compositions according to the present disclosure can be used as coatings and adhesive systems with handling and performance similar to existing two-part urethane systems, but with less sensitivity to water.
ADHESIVE KIT AND METHOD OF PRODUCING LAMINATE
An adhesive kit 1 separately includes a main agent layer 2 containing a polyamine component, and a curing agent layer 3 containing a polyisocyanate component. When the main agent layer 2 is reacted with the curing agent layer 3, the reactive parameter Pr exceeds 40% and the diffusion parameter Pd exceeds 15%.

Matted polyamide-pud
Polymers are disclosed that incorporate portions of secondary or tertiary polyamide segments connected with polyisocyanates. These polymers have enhanced matting properties. The enhanced matting properties are from creating an inherently matt surface from the polymer without the use of any separate fine particle size matting additives. Conventional matting agents such as fine particle size silica usually results in loss of physical properties such as haze development and porosity in the coating from the matting agent. Composites and hybrids of these polymers and other polyamides, polyurethane with vinyl polymers (acrylates) are also disclosed and claimed.
