SILOXANE-BASED DUAL-CURE TRANSPARENT TRANSFER FILM
Dual cure transfer films include a siloxane-based matrix formed by thermal curing of a siloxane with thermally curable groups, a silsesquioxane with UV-curable groups that is dispersed within the siloxane-based matrix, and a UV photoinitiator. The transfer film is an adhesive and can be cured by UV radiation to form a non-tacky cured layer, where the non-tacky cured layer is optically transparent. In preferred embodiments at least one siloxane comprising thermally curable groups comprises a siloxane with epoxy functional groups; and the at least one silsesquioxane comprising UV-curable groups comprises a (meth)acrylate functional silsesquioxane.
Multilayer Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive Assembly
Provided is an assembly including a first polymeric layer of a first pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) composition and a second polymeric foam layer of a second PSA composition. The first PSA composition contains at least 60 parts by weight of (meth)acrylate copolymer containing C1-C32 (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer units; 0.1-15 parts by weight of C2-C8 hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer units, based on 100 parts by weight of the total monomers of the (meth)acrylate copolymer; and up to 40 parts by weight of a (meth)acrylate copolymer having a weight average molecular weight above 20,000 Daltons and including (meth)acrylic acid ester monomer units. The second PSA composition contains a first (meth)acrylate copolymer having 0.1-12 wt % of (meth)acrylic acid monomer units, based on the weight of the first (meth)acrylate copolymer; and a second (meth)acrylate copolymer having 15-40 wt % of (meth)acrylic acid monomer units, based on the weight of the second (meth)acrylate copolymer.
APPLICATOR FOR PLASMA-INITIATED ADHESIVE STRIPS, COMPRISING A FOLDING MECHANISM
The invention relates to an applicator for a folded adhesive tape (8) comprising an adhesive tape roll (6) with an adhesive tape (7) which comprises a bonding agent layer (30), an unwinding device for an end section of the adhesive tape (7) from the adhesive tape roll (6), a plasma source (20) having a process gas (22) enriched with reactive species, directed onto a reactive outer side (31) of the bonding agent layer (30) of the unwound end section of the adhesive tape (7), wherein the bonding agent layer (30) at least one substance folding device (10) for the adhesive tape (7), disposed downstream of the plasma source (20) in a running direction of the adhesive tape (7), for producing the folded adhesive tape (8).
FILM-INITIATED CURE OF STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE FILM
Curable adhesive free-standing films and adhesive systems comprising such films are provided. In some embodiments, a curable adhesive free-standing film comprises a blend of: a) a first film-forming polymer or oligomer; b) a first species comprising first unsaturated free-radically polymerizable groups, which may be a) or a species other than a); c) a first transition metal cation; d) a reducing agent; and no oxidizing agent. In some embodiments, an adhesive system comprises: I) a first curable adhesive free-standing film as described preceding; and II) a second curable adhesive free-standing film comprising a blend of: e) a second film-forming polymer or oligomer; f) a second species comprising second unsaturated free-radically polymerizable groups, which may be e) or may be a species other than e); and g) an oxidizing agent. In some embodiments, the curable adhesive free-standing films may be pressure sensitive adhesives prior to cure. Methods of use are provided.
Siloxane-Based Gel Adhesives
Medical articles include a substrate with a layer of a siloxane-based gel adhesive composition. The gel adhesive composition includes a crosslinked polymeric siloxane matrix, and an extractable polymeric fluid with a weight average molecular weight greater than 275,000 grams/mole. The extractable polymeric fluid is 26-80 weight % of the gel adhesive composition. The gel adhesive composition may also include a siloxane tackifying resin.

An optical adhesive, a method for manufacturing an optical adhesive, and a display device are provided. The optical adhesive includes a first adhesive layer, a second adhesive layer, and a third adhesive layer that are sequentially stacked, a storage modulus of the first adhesive layer is greater than a storage modulus of the third adhesive layer, and the storage modulus of the first adhesive layer and the storage modulus of the third adhesive layer are both greater than a storage modulus of the second adhesive layer.

ADHESIVE TAPE
Disclosed is an adhesive tape having an adhesive layer on one side or both sides of a base 1, wherein the adhesive layer when having the adhesive layer on one side of the base 1, or at least one adhesive layer of two adhesive layers when having the adhesive layers on both sides of the base 1 has a first adhesive layer 2 in contact with the base 1 and a second adhesive region 3 in contact with the first adhesive layer 2 and which is situated on the surface side of the adhesive tape, and the storage elastic modulus G′ of the first adhesive layer 2 is higher than the storage elastic modulus G′ of the second adhesive region 3. This adhesive tape provides easy position adjustment and easy air removal at the time of sticking, and has excellent waterproofness after sticking.
