RUBBER CORE CORD JOINING STRUCTURE, AND SOLIDIFYING AGENT FOR JOINING RUBBER CORE CORD
The present invention provides a joining structure with a joining strength higher than that of a conventional rubber core cord joining structure of a rubber ring. The invention also provides a solidifying agent for joining a rubber core cord that provides such a joining structure. A joining structure 2 of a rubber core cord 11 according to the present invention is a rubber core cord joining structure of which opposite end portions of the rubber core cord 11 or end portions of two rubber core cords are joined to each other with an adhesive. A solidified portion 23 formed by a solidifying agent 25 that has solidified is formed at each of the opposite end portions of the rubber core cord 11 or each of the end portions of the two rubber core cords, and the solidified portion 23 contains porous particles. The solidifying agent 25 according to the present invention is a solidifying agent that is applied to the rubber core cord 11, and contains a solvent containing a solidification component and porous particles contained in the solvent.
Adhesive compositions with polyesters comprising 2,2,4,4-tetraalkyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol and methods of making the same
Adhesive compositions comprising a polyester polyol that includes residues of at least one 2,2,4,4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1,3-diol, including, for example, 2,2,4,4-tetramethylcyclobutane-1,3-diol (TMCD). Adhesive compositions may exhibit enhanced properties as compared to conventional adhesive compositions, and may be suitable for a wide variety of end use applications, including, flexible packaging, woodworking, automotive uses, and electronics.
Adhesive compositions with polyesters comprising 2,2,4,4-tetraalkyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol
This invention relates to adhesive compositions comprising a polyester polyol that includes residues of at least one 2, 2, 4, 4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1, 3-diol, including, for example, 2, 2, 4, 4-tetramethylcyclobutane-1, 3-diol (TMCD). Adhesive compositions as described herein exhibit enhanced properties as compared to conventional adhesive compositions, and may be suitable for a wide variety of end use applications, including, flexible packaging, woodworking, automotive uses, and electronics.
Adhesive material with triggerable on-demand detachment
An adhesive material that provides fast and robust adhesion on wet surfaces, where the adhesion formed is detachable on-demand. The adhesive material is formed of one or more hydrophilic polymers or copolymers grafted with one or more amine coupling groups via a plurality of cleavable physical bonds and/or cleavable covalent bonds and one or more cross linkers. Application of the adhesive material on a wet surface causes the adhesive material to absorb liquid to thereby swell the adhesive material to form a layer of hydrogel, resulting in the formation of temporary crosslinks followed by covalent crosslinks with the surface. Introducing a triggering agent cleaves the cleavable physical bonds and/or cleavable covalent bonds to allow for non-traumatic detachment of the adhesive material from the surface.
Shrink films and related combinations and methods
The present subject matter provides a shrink film free of silicon-containing material, fluorine-containing material, and solvent-formed seams. The shrink film utilizes a water soluble layer covering an adhesive layer. The water soluble layer is in dry form and non-tacky, allowing processing of the shrink film subsequent to adhesive application to the shrink film. When the water soluble layer is dissolved, the adhesive layer is exposed and is capable of forming a permanent bond. The adhesive can be used to form a seam in the film and/or can be used to form a bond between the film and a substrate. The water soluble layer facilitates removal of an optional release liner from the adhesive. A substrate with the shrink film attached thereto and a related method of attaching a heat shrinkable film to a substrate are also disclosed.
WATER-ACTIVATED DOUBLE-SIDED ADHESIVE TAPE OR SHEET
Provided is a water-activated double-side adhesive tape or sheet, wherein a water-absorbing adhesive layer is provided on one surface of a water permeable substrate, and a water-activated adhesive layer which is made slippery by applying water is provided on the other surface of the water permeable substrate. The water-activated double-sided adhesive tape or sheet is used to fix grips onto sports equipment such as golf clubs and bicycle, and allows the adhesive layer to dry rapidly and the grips to be fixed well, regardless of the type of grip material.
Membranes with water-activated binding elements
A roofing membrane may comprise a water-impermeable insulation layer, and a binding layer coupled to the insulation layer. In a dry state, the binding layer may be non-tacky. In an activated state, the binding layer may be tacky.
Hydration-based shape memory adhesive materials and methods of making
A dry shape memory adhesive material for adhering a target surface in the presence of fluid and for providing tunable mechanical contraction of an adhered surface. The dry shape memory adhesive material is pre-stretched and dried to provide an adhesive structure that implements a hydration-based shape memory mechanism to achieve both uniaxial and biaxial contractions of the adhered surface. According to preferred embodiments, the shape memory adhesive material includes a combination of one or more hydrophilic polymers or copolymers, one or more amine coupling group, and one or more cross linkers.
Water-soluble triazabutadienes
Water-soluble triazabutadiene molecules and methods for producing and using such compounds. The triazabutadiene molecules may be more labile at pH levels below physiological pH, such as pH 7, pH 6, pH 5, etc. The triazabutadiene molecules and compounds may be used for depositing diazonium salt and/or cargo in a pH-sensitive manner. The triazabutadiene molecules may alternatively be cleaved in reducing conditions or as a light-catalyzed reaction. The compounds herein may be used for delivery of drugs, as part of detection systems, or for other applications such as underwater adhesive applications.
FORMULATIONS AND APPLICATIONS OF WET-ADHESIVES
The present application discloses methods for using an adhesive composition comprising a polymer of the formulae A, B and C:
##STR00001##
wherein the variables are as defined herein.
