Rubber-metal laminated gasket material
A rubber-metal laminated gasket material comprising a metal plate, a surface treating agent layer, an adhesive layer, and a rubber layer, the layers being sequentially laminated on the metal plate; wherein the surface treating agent layer is formed by applying a surface treating agent so that the coating amount on one surface is 30 to 1,000 mg/m.sup.2, and the surface treating agent is free from chromium, has a mixing ratio of 20 to 90 wt. % of a fluorine-free titanium compound and 10 to 80 wt. % of alumina, and has a metal titanium content of 1 to 20 wt. %. The rubber-metal laminated gasket material has excellent LLC resistance under high temperature conditions.
IMPROVED ADHESIVE COMPOSITION FOR BONDING RUBBER TO METAL
An adhesive composition is comprised of a film forming polymer, (ii) a lower crystallinity polynitroso compound, (e.g., poly-(1,4-phenylyenazine-N,N-dioxide)), (iii) a higher crystallinity polynitroso compound (e.g., poly-(1,4-phenylyenazine-N,N-dioxide)), and (iv) a carrier liquid. The composition is useful in bonding metal and rubber to make, for example, components to damp noise, vibration or harshness.
Adhesion-Regulating Agents and Methods For Tuning Adhesion Strength of Acrylic Adhesives By Substrate Modification
Adhesion-regulating agents for enhancing the adhesion values of acrylic adhesives, and methods of using adhesion-regulating agents for treating substrates for enhancing adhesion of the substrate to objects comprising an acrylic adhesive are disclosed.
Pre-processing method for adhering rubber layer to inner and outer surfaces of cylindrical object-of-adherence
The method includes forming, on a bonding object surface of a bonding object, an adhesive layer for bonding an unvulcanized rubber onto the bonding object surface, through use of an adhesion sheet and a fixing device. The fixing device includes an enclosed chamber. The fixing device is configured such that a gas in the chamber can be discharged and a gas can be introduced into the chamber. The fixing device includes a table which is arranged in the chamber and on which the bonding object can be placed. The adhesion sheet includes a top coating adhesive layer formed on a film and an undercoating adhesive layer formed on the top coating adhesive layer.
Method for improving the operability of an olefin polymerization reactor
The present technology relates to a method of introducing a supported antistatic compound that does not comprise a transition-metal-based catalyst component for use in an olefin polymerization reactor. In some embodiments, the methods disclosed herein avoid the formation of polymer agglomerates in the reactor and minimize potentially negative effects on catalyst yield.
TIRE WITH REDUCED CAVITY NOISE
Disclosed is a tire with reduced cavity noise including an adhesive agent layer applied to an inside of an inner liner and a sound absorber layer attached to the adhesive agent layer, wherein the adhesive agent layer includes poly(ether-urethane) containing alkoxysilane at both ends thereof. The tire with reduced cavity noise is stable without causing separation of a sound absorber even upon heating and deformation during driving.
BONDING SYSTEM
A water-based adhesive film-forming cover composition including: (i) at least one film forming polymer; (ii) at least one lower crystallinity first polynitroso compound; (iii) at least one higher crystallinity second polynitroso compound; (iv) at least one crosslinking agent; and (v) water as a carrier liquid; a bonding system including a combination of: (a) a water-based primer component; and (b) the above water-based cover component; a process for manufacturing the above bonding system; and a process of manufacturing a bonded article with the above bonding system. A bonded article, having a bonding line made from the above bonding system disposed between metal and rubber substrates, exhibits excellent stability against an aqueous urea-solution at temperatures of up to about 95? C.
HIGH VISCOSITY PRIMER
A high viscosity primer and a process for preparing a polymer surface for solvent cement bonding are disclosed. The high viscosity primer has at least one solvent capable of at least partially dissolving or softening the surface and comprising a thickener ethylcellulose, PVC resin, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) resin, acrylic resin, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), pentaerythritol ethoxylate, or a combination thereof and present at a concentration in a range of from about 0.5 wt % to about 10 wt %, relative to the total weight of the primer. The high viscosity primer has a viscosity in a range of from about 10 to about 100 centipoise.
Process for Cold Bonding Rubber on Metal Substrates
The present invention relates to a process for cold bonding elastomeric rubber substrates to non-elastomeric substrates of a different material, preferably metal, by use of a rubber treatment, preferably a primer composition and a 2k adhesive, preferably a 2k epoxy adhesive as well as the thus obtained bonded substrates.
ADHESION PROMOTER FOR COMPOSITES AND METHODS THEREOF
An adhesion promoter composition is including one or more reactive silanes, one or more swelling agents, and one or more organic solvents, where the one or more reactive silanes forms a complex with the one or more swelling agents is disclosed. The one or more reactive silanes may include an amine functional group, an epoxy functional group, a mercapto functional group, an isocyanate functional group, or a combination thereof. The one or more swelling agents is selected from a group which may include phenol or naphthol derivatives. A composite part including the adhesion promoter composition and a method for applying the adhesion promoter composition is also disclosed.
