An adhesive article that remains securely bonded to a substrate until a stimuli is applied. The article may be embodied as an adhesive tape, a bandage, or as other articles. The stimuli may be a change in temperature or application of a reduction that causes a structure within the article to break, creak, or otherwise disrupt to expose the adhesive to a solvent, such as via a difference in Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) or by exposing the article to a glass transition temperature.

Hot Melt Adhesive for Polyolefin Films

A hot-melt adhesive composition is disclosed. The hot melt adhesive comprises a) 25 to 95 wt %, preferably 50 to 85 wt % of at least one polyolefin-based polymer; b) 1 to 75 wt %, preferably 1 to 40 wt % of at least one tackifying resin; c) 0 to 15 wt % of at least one plasticizer; and d) 0 to 30 wt % of at least one additive and/or adjuvant selected from among stabilizers, adhesion promoters, fillers or pigments, waxes, and/or other polymers or combinations thereof,
characterized in that the at least one polyolefin-based polymer is a mixture of: a1) at least one first polyolefin-based polymer with a molecular weight M.sub.n of <10,000 g/mol in a quantity of 20 to 80 wt % with respect to the total quantity of polyolefin-based polymer, and a2) at least one second polyolefin-based polymer with a molecular weight M.sub.n of >10,000 g/mol in a quantity of 20 to 80 wt % with respect to the total quantity of polyolefin-based polymer. The adhesive is particularly useful for gluing polyolefin films, woven fabrics, or nonwoven fabrics. Also, methods for manufacturing packaging and fabric with the hot-melt adhesive above are disclosed.

HAND-TEARABLE DOUBLE-SIDED PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE TAPE

A double-sided pressure-sensitive adhesive tape includes a support base member having a hand tearable property, a first acrylic adhesive layer on one surface of the support base member, and a second acrylic adhesive layer on another surface of the support base member. The first acrylic adhesive layer has a thickness t1 that is 5 μm or more and 50 μm or less, the second acrylic adhesive layer has a thickness t2 that is greater than the thickness t1 of the first acrylic adhesive layer and is 20 μm or more, the second acrylic adhesive layer has gel fraction X2 that is 20 mass % or more and 75 mass % or less, and the second acrylic adhesive layer has adhesive force greater than adhesive force of the first acrylic adhesive layer.

DOUBLE-FACED PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVE SHEET AND USE THEREOF

Provided is a double-faced PSA sheet having excellent detergent resistance. The PSA sheet according to this invention comprises a PSA layer and is adhesive on both faces. The PSA sheet shows a push-peel strength of 30 N/cm.sup.2 or greater after a detergent immersion test involving immersion in a standard detergent at 40° C. for 24 hours. It also has an adhesive strength retention rate of 50% or higher, determined as the ratio of push-peel strength P2 after the detergent immersion test to push-peel strength P1 before the detergent immersion test.

MULTIFUNCTIONAL ADHESIVE FILM FOR THE SURFACE PROTECTION OF WORKPIECES

A multilayer thermoformable film to protect the surface of a workpiece includes an underlayer having first and second faces. The underlayer is made from an adhesive material configured to adhere to the surface of the workpiece by the first face. At least one layer of polymer material is attached to the second face of the adhesive underlayer. The layer of polymer material is resistant to erosion by solid particles and to erosion by liquid particles. It is formed from a polymer material chosen from a polyurethane, a polyether ether ketone and a polyethylene having a very high molecular weight, with a Shore D hardness of between 50 and 65 D. A method of surface protection of the workpiece includes thermoforming the film in a shape adapted to match the shape of at least a portion of the workpiece and applying the film thermoformed onto the surface of the workpiece.
