COMPOSITION FOR GAS SEAL MEMBER AND METHOD OF PRODUCING SAME, GAS SEAL MEMBER FOR HIGH-PRESSURE HYDROGEN DEVICE, AND HIGH-PRESSURE HYDROGEN DEVICE

Provided is a composition for a gas seal member that can form a gas seal member for a high-pressure hydrogen device that is capable of sufficiently inhibiting both swelling destruction and blister destruction. The composition for a gas seal member is a composition for a gas seal member used in a high-pressure hydrogen environment and contains an elastomer and fibrous carbon nanostructures. The fibrous carbon nanostructures are contained in a proportion of not less than 1 part by mass and not more than 10 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the elastomer. An area fraction S (%) of aggregates of the fibrous carbon nanostructures in a cross-section of the composition for a gas seal member and a volume percentage V (volume %) of the fibrous carbon nanostructures in the composition for a gas seal member satisfy a relationship 0S/V2.0.

Sealant for tubes of curable substances

A sealant releasably seals a distal end of a tip of a tube containing a curable substance dispensable from the tip of the tube. The sealant has between about 20 N and about 60 N of penetration resistance force in a penetration resistance test, wherein the penetration resistance test comprises: (i) placing the sealant in a container at room temperature such that the sealant has a top surface defining a plane; (ii) attaching a conical probe to a force gage wherein the conical probe has a tip length of 7.5 mm, a diameter of 9 mm, and an overall length of 20 mm; (iii) moving the conical probe perpendicularly relative to the plane of top surface of the sealant; and (iv) inserting the conical probe into the sealant to an insertion depth of between 8 mm and 12 mm to generate the penetration resistance force.

SEALING COMPOUNDS

Provided is a graphene foam-based sealing material comprising: (a) a graphene foam framework comprising pores and pore walls, wherein the pore walls comprise a 3D network of interconnected graphene planes or graphene sheets; and (b) a permeation-resistant binder or matrix material that coats and embraces the exterior surfaces of the graphene foam framework and/or infiltrates into pores of the graphene foam, occupying from 10% to 100% (preferably from 10% to 98% and more preferably from 20% to 90%) of the pore volume of the graphene foam framework.

ENZYMATIC SELF-CLEANING SEALANTS

Sealants and caulks (i.e., polymeric fillers) disclosed herein are polymeric fillers that comprises a polymeric material composition and one or more lipolytic enzymes dispersed within the polymeric material composition. In preferred embodiments, the polymeric material composition is an acrylic latex sealant such as that in the form of a caulk and the one or more lipolytic enzymes comprises a lipase such as, preferably, a triacylglycerol lipase. Advantageously, the one or more lipolytic enzymes of such sealants and caulks degrades lipid-containing contaminants and resulting lipid-containing stains that contain lipids. The degradation is a result of the ability of a lipolytic enzyme to catalyze a reaction on a lipid-containing substance (i.e., a substrate) to hydrolyze or move (e.g., intra-esterification) ester bonds of such lipid-containing substance. This lipid-degradation functionality at least partially inhibits the growth of such mold and mildew resulting from exposure to lipid-containing contaminants.

ACRYLIC RUBBER COMPOSITION

Provided are an acrylic rubber composition having higher tensile properties and higher heat resistance and a vulcanizate thereof. An acrylic rubber composition includes 1 to 25 parts by mass of a layered clay mineral relative to 100 parts by mass of an acrylic rubber.
