UPHOLSTERED FURNITURE INCLUDING MOLDED FURNITURE COMPONENTS
An upholstered piece of furniture with a frame including a pair blow molded hollow arm rest forms, wherein spanning wood frame members extend between the forms. The wood frame members secured to the forms with interference fits, and minimal threaded fasteners. The arm rest forms have through slots which allow the seat deck and arm upholstery to be pulled through and anchored with staples providing a secure attachment. Threaded fasteners clamp onto the polymer wall of the forms for attachment of frame members. A blowmolded backrest has a metal reinforcing arms connecting to a seat platform. Holes in arm rest allow upholstery panel connections with Christmas tree connectors. The connections to the arm rest forms and providing a geometrically rigid and robust sofa frame that is weighs less, is quicker to assemble, and is more robust. The finishing of the sofa is also quicker and easier than conventional sofas.
SEATING FURNITURE SUPPORT ARRANGEMENT
A seating furniture support arrangement (6) for a seat or a backrest, suitable, e.g., for a sofa, comprises a first (8) and a second (10; 12) load-carrying longitudinal beam, each being mountable to a seating furniture frame comprising one or more parts; an elastic sheet (16; 14); and a mechanism for stretching the elastic sheet (16; 14) between the first longitudinal beam (8) and the second longitudinal beam (10; 12). The mechanism comprises a first longitudinal beam (8) pivotable on the frame. The elastic sheet (16; 14), with the said seating furniture support arrangement (6) in installed position, is connected to the first longitudinal beam (8) in such a way that the first longitudinal beam (8) pivoting with respect to the frame, in response to an application of an external force or torque, stretches the elastic sheet (16; 14), the external force or torque working against the tension force of the elastic sheet (16; 14) until a point of maximum tension is reached, past which point of maximum tension the tension force facilitates further pivoting of said first longitudinal beam (8), acting to keep the first longitudinal beam (8) in place in a final position.
MEDITATION SEAT SYSTEM
The present invention relates to seat systems, and more specifically to seat systems suitable for supporting users sitting in a cross-legged or kneeling position during activities such as meditation. Sitting closer to the ground, cross-legged, and/or kneeling enables the brain to easily enter a parasympathetic mode, providing users of the seat system a greater sense of calmness. The Multi-Angle Knee blocks (MAKs) offer a greater level of hip support for users.
LOUNGE FURNITURE WITH REMOVABLE SEAT
Electrified lounge furniture formed from joined furniture sections. Each furniture section includes a lounge back, a seat and a base. The seat is designed to be selectively pivotable away from the base. When the furniture sections are joined to each other, an electrical wiring assembly extends between the furniture sections to provide electrical power to each of the furniture sections. Each of the furniture sections includes at least one electrical outlet. The electrical wiring assembly is received on the base of each of the furniture sections and is concealed beneath the seat during normal usage. When the user desires access to the electrical wiring assembly, one or more of the seats can pivot away from the base to provide access to the electrical wiring assembly. After the electrical wiring assembly has been accessed, the seat can pivot back into contact with the base where it is securely held to both the base and the lounge back.
Compactly Packageable Sofa with a Zippered Flap Between the Seat Cushion and the Seat Back
A compactly packageable sofa includes a seat back, a seat cushion, two arm panels and a zippered flap. In the assembled state of the sofa, the seat cushion and the seat back are held between the arm panels, and the zippered flap is attached to both the seat back and the seat cushion. The seat back does not contact the seat cushion in the assembled state of the sofa. In the compact state of the sofa, the seat back, the seat cushion and the arm panels are not attached to one another. Instead, the arm panels fit inside a compartment under the seat cushion. The flap is not attached to both the seat back and the seat cushion in the compact state of the sofa. In the compact state, the sofa is contained in a packing box whose width is only slightly greater than the depth of the seat cushion.
Flexible furniture back
A flexible furniture back with “U” clamp is a steel sofa or chair back having a U-shaped clamp secured to a sofa or chair base providing a back capable of horizontal movement. The furniture back has a plurality of steel cross-member supports. Additionally, the furniture back has padding about the front face and rear face of the back thereby providing cushioning.
FURNITURE AND METHODS OF STORAGE
Furniture configurable between a display configuration and a storage configuration that eases transport and storage and reduces the furniture footprint. The furniture includes an upper region that has seating and a backrest, and a lower region that is below the upper region and adapted to engage a support surface beneath the furniture when in the display configuration. In combination, the upper and lower regions define at least first and second sections of the furniture that are coupled by at least one hinge so that the first section comprises a first portion of the upper region and a first portion of the lower region and the second section comprises a second portion of the upper region and a second portion of the lower region, and the at least one hinge is configured so that the first and second sections pivot toward each other when the furniture is in the storage configuration.
Electronic furniture systems with speaker tuning
An electronic furniture assembly of the present invention comprises: (i) a furniture assembly comprising: (A) a base (e.g., a seat portion), (B) at least one transverse member (e.g., a side, armrest or backrest), and (C) a coupler for selectively coupling the base to the transverse member; (ii) an electrical hub for providing electrical power to the speakers, the hub configured to selectively reside within the furniture assembly; and (iii) a speaker system mounted within one or more portions of the furniture assembly. The speaker system comprises one or more speakers mounted within the base and transverse member, hiding the speakers therein, and saving space within a home or office, using the same footprint for both furniture and speakers, providing a high fidelity surround sound system.
TOOL-FREE DISMOUNTABLE FURNITURE
Systems and methods are provided for tool-free dismountable furniture. An exemplary system (100) includes a plurality of primary connectors and a plurality of secondary connectors which connect parts of an armchair. The system (100) includes a backrest (104) with a first pair of primary connectors on a top portion and a second pair of primary connectors on a bottom portion. These primary connectors connect to secondary connectors on a rear end of a set of handrails (112,114). The handrails (112,114) also have primary connectors on a front end which connect to secondary connectors on a seat board (102).
