Polymer-based enhanced oil recovery with compositionally-tuned slugs
A method for selecting compositions of first and second slugs to be injected into an underground formation includes selecting a first salinity and a first polymer concentration for a first slug to be injected into a well; selecting a second salinity and a second polymer concentration for a second slug to be injected into the well; injecting the first slug into the well; and injecting the second slug into the well. The second slug is injected immediately after the first slug.

Organic acid-based enhanced waterflooding
In an embodiment, a hydrocarbon recovery material includes an organic acid and a water material, the organic acid including a naphthenic acid, L-proline, or combinations thereof. In another embodiment, an oil recovery method includes injecting a treatment fluid into a reservoir under reservoir conditions, the reservoir containing hydrocarbons, and the treatment fluid includes an organic acid and a water material. In another embodiment, an oil recovery method includes injecting a treatment fluid into a reservoir containing hydrocarbons, the treatment fluid comprising an organic acid in one or more of an oil-in-water emulsion, a resin dispersion, or a polymer capsule.

AUTO-INVERTIBLE INVERSE POLYMER EMULSION
The invention relates to an inverse polymer emulsion having the particular feature of auto-inverting without any need for the use of an inverting agent and containing a polymer of at least one water-soluble monomer and at least one LCST macromonomer. The invention also relates to the use of the inverse emulsion in the fields of the oil and gas industry, water treatment, slurry treatment, paper manufacturing, construction, mining, cosmetics, textiles, detergents or agriculture.

PROCESS AND PLANT FOR MANUFACTURING AQUEOUS POLYACRYLAMIDE GELS
Process and a plant for making polyacrylamides by polymerizing an aqueous solution comprising at least acrylamide and acrylic acid or salts thereof in the presence of initiators for radical polymerization under adiabatic conditions, wherein acrylamide and acrylic acid are stored at the site of the plant as dilute aqueous solutions in pressure-resistant tanks and also the monomer mixing vessel and the polymerization vessel are pressure-resistant. The combination of using diluted monomer solutions and pressure-resistant tanks ensures that even in case of an unintended and uncontrolled polymerization, said vessels don't burst and there is no spill out of the plant to the environment.
