POLYMERIZABLE COMPOUND, POLYMERIZABLE COMPOSITION, POLYMER, OPTICALLY ANISOTROPIC BODY, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYMERIZABLE COMPOUND
A polymerizable compound has a practical low melting point, excellent solubility in a general-purpose solvent, and can produce an optical film at low cost, exhibits low reflected luminance, and achieves uniform conversion of polarized light over a wide wavelength band, an optically anisotropic article.
Liquid crystal composition and application thereof
A liquid crystal composition and use thereof in the liquid crystal display field. The liquid crystal composition includes, in percentages by weight, 5-40% of one or more compounds represented by general formula I, 2-30% of one or more compounds represented by general formula II, and 20-70% of one or more compounds represented by general formula III, and may further include 4-30% of one or more compounds represented by general formula IV and/or 5-25% of one or more compounds represented by general formulas V to IX. The combined use of the above-mentioned compounds can effectively reduce the rotational viscosity of the liquid crystal composition, improve related properties of the mixed liquid crystal, and thus reduce the response time thereof. The liquid crystal composition can be used for a fast-response liquid display in a variety of display modes.
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
The liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates consisting of first and second substrates arranged to face each other, a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first and second substrates, a pixel electrode disposed on at least one of the first and second substrates, a common electrode disposed on at least one of the first and second substrates, a light source section including a light-emitting element, and a photoconversion layer including pixels of three primary colors consisting of red (R), green (G), and blue (B). The photoconversion layer contains a light-emitting nanocrystal having an emission spectrum of any of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) upon receiving light emitted from the light source section on at least one of the three primary colors. The liquid crystal layer contains a liquid crystal composition containing a compound represented by General Formula (i) at 10% to 50% by mass.
LIQUID CRYSTAL COMPOSITION AND USE THEREOF
A liquid crystal composition includes at least one polar compound represented by Formula (I), at least one polar compound represented by Formula (II), at least one compound represented by Formula (III), and at least one compound represented by Formula (IV), in which Formulae (I) to (IV) are as defined herein.
