Liquid-crystal polyester resin composition
A liquid crystal polyester resin composition includes: (A) liquid crystal polyester; (B) talc; and (C) mica, in which the total amount ((B)+(C)) of the (B) talc and the (C) mica is in a range of 5 parts by mass to 100 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the (A) liquid crystal polyester, and a mass ratio ((B)/(C)) of a mass of the (B) talc to a mass of the (C) mica is in a range of 9/1 to 1/9.

Thermally conductive electrically insulating compositions and structures and devices comprising such materials. In various embodiments, such materials comprise liquid crystal polymer and fillers, wherein the fillers comprise boron nitride and glass fiber. In various embodiments, the liquid crystal polymer is selected from the group consisting of semi-aromatic copolyesters, copolyamides, polyester-co-amides, and mixtures thereof.
Haptic Actuator Containing a High Modulus Polymer Composition with High Heat Resistance
A haptic actuator is provided. The haptic actuator comprises a housing having a top and a bottom and at least one sidewall between the top and bottom first and second permanent magnets carried by the top and bottom, respectively, of the housing, a field member carried by the housing and comprising at least one coil between the first and second permanent magnets, first and second ends; and optionally, one or more mechanical stiffeners carried by the top of the housing, the bottom of the housing, or both. The haptic actuator comprises a polymer composition that has a melting temperature of about 250° C. or more and a tensile modulus of about 16,000 MPa or more as determined in accordance with ISO 527:2019 at a temperature of 23° C.
Three-dimensional Structures of Mesogenic Ligand-functionalized Nanoparticles and Methods of Making and Using the Same
Three-dimensional structures of stably associated mesogenic ligand-functionalized nanoparticles are provided. Compositions that include these structures, as well as methods of making the structures are also provided. The structures, compositions and methods find use in a variety of applications, such as light emitting devices (e.g., video displays, lights, etc.), inks, photonics and encapsulation technologies.
GRATING, FABRICATING METHOD THEREFOR, DISPLAY PANEL AND DISPLAY DEVICE
A grating is provided. The grating includes a first substrate and a second substrate opposite the first substrate, a plurality of first transparent electrodes arranged at equal intervals along a surface of the first substrate and between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a plurality of second transparent electrodes each arranged along a surface of the second substrate and opposite to a respective one of the plurality of first transparent electrodes, and a liquid crystal mixture layer arranged between each pair of the first transparent electrodes and respective second transparent electrodes, wherein a liquid crystal mixture in the liquid crystal mixture layer is switchable between a smectic phase and a cholesteric phase such that the liquid crystal mixture is transparent in the smectic phase and black in the cholesteric phase.
ACTUATOR
The present invention relates to an actuator that has a specific structure, and is molded from a resin composition, in which the resin composition contains a liquid crystal polyester having a specific repeating unit and a filling material, an amount of the repeating unit including a 2,6-naphthylene group is 40 mol % or more with respect to a total number of moles of all repeating units configuring the liquid crystal polyester, and an amount of the filling material is less than 55 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the liquid crystal polyester and the filling material.
Camera module
A camera module containing a molded part (e.g., generally planar base, lens barrel mounted on the base, etc.) that is formed from a polymer composition is provided. The polymer composition includes a liquid crystalline polymer and inorganic particles that have a hardness value of about 2.5 or more based on the Mohs hardness scale.
CHOLESTERIC LIQUID CRYSTAL CELL WITH INCREASED REFLECTIVITY
The invention relates to a reflecting cell including at least two substrates covered by an electrode and facing each other, the substrates delimiting between them a volume which separates them and which is filled with a cholesteric liquid crystal-type material, both electrodes being intended to be connected to a voltage source. This cell includes at least one half-wave plate arranged between both substrates and dividing the volume into two compartments, each enclosing a part of a same cholesteric liquid crystal.
