Fire resistant material
The present invention relates to inorganic-organic hybrids (IOHs), methods for their preparation and their use as fire resistant materials or components of fire resistant materials. More specifically, the invention relates to polyamide fire resistant formulations containing IOHs which have application in the production of fire resistant articles or parts thereof for use in the transportation, building, construction and electrical or optical industries.
FIRE RETARDANT DARKENING SCREEN
A fire retardant darkening screen for use in greenhouses is provided, the screen including a top fabric and a bottom fabric. The top fabric includes halogen-containing polymeric strips laminated with a light-reflective film or foil. The bottom fabric includes polyolefin tapes, preferably high density polyethylene tapes, the polyolefin tapes including a synergistic fire resistance composition.

Polymer Flame Retardant and Method for Its Manufacture
Method for the preparation of a film forming flame retardant comprising nitrogen and silicon in its chemical composition, said method comprising the following steps: i. conversion of Z.sub.1 moles of amine moiety, selected from the group of primary and secondary amine and covalently bound to Z.sub.2 moles of one or more at least partially hydrolysable silane moiety, with Z.sub.3 moles of a chemical substance selected from a group of chemical substances obtainable from carboxylic acids or carbonic acid and represented by formula (I), (II) or (III); ii. conversion with a with at least one HO-functionalized substance of formula (IV): M.sub.x(OH).sub.yR.sup.5z. The resulting film forming flame retardant is contemplated.

The process includes providing starting materials, which include a nitrile compound, a bromine source, and hydrazine. The process also includes reacting the starting materials to form a tetrazine flame retardant. The article of manufacture includes a polymer and a flame-retardant compound having a tetrazine moiety and at least one ligand comprising a brominated moiety.

The article of manufacture includes a polymer and a flame-retardant compound having a tetrazine moiety and at least one ligand comprising a brominated moiety.
Fire-Retardant Oriented Strand Board (OSB)
A two-part flame-retardant, a flame-retardant oriented strand (OSB) and method for forming a flame-retardant OSB is provided. The two-part flame-retardant composition includes an aqueous solution containing a water-soluble flame-retardant and a flame-retardant powder that is incorporated into an oriented strand board without substantially affecting the mechanical properties of the oriented strand board. The method includes applying the aqueous solution containing a water-soluble flame-retardant to an oriented strand board furnish and applying a flame-retardant powder to the wetted furnish, without requiring an additional drying step.
