FLUORORUBBER COMPOSITION
A fluororubber composition in which fluororubber is compounded with triiron tetraoxide having a BET specific surface area of 4.0 m.sup.2/g or less at a ratio of 7.0 vol % or more as a volume fraction. A crosslinked product obtained by the fluororubber composition according to the present invention can be detected 1 mm pieces thereof by using a metal detector ND-840, produced by Nissin Electronics Co., Ltd., under the detection sensitivity conditions (Fe: 0.6 in diameter, SUS: 1.5 in diameter). Further, the compression set of the crosslinked product using an O-ring at 175 C. after 70 hours is 21% or less, and thus the crosslinked product can be effectively used for gaskets, O-rings, and the like for food production facilities, food machinery, automobiles, etc.
PLUMBER'S PUTTY
Disclosed herein are plumber's putty compositions that avoid staining the surfaces plumbing parts to which they are applied in order to provide a watertight seal, including plastics, such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic, while providing the pliability and softness of traditional putties. Also provided are methods of providing a seal about a plumbing part comprising contacting the plumber's putty composition according to the present disclosure with the plumbing part.
Room-temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition and production method for same
A room-temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition that contains: 100 parts by mass of the product of reacting (A) a diorganopolysiloxane that is capped at both ends by a hydroxyl group, a hydroxy-group-containing hydrocarbon compound in such an amount as for there to be 0.01-0.5 mol per 1 mol of hydroxyl groups that are bonded to silicon atoms in the diorganopolysiloxane, and platinic chloride hexahydrate in an amount that is 0.01-1 mass % of the total of component (A); (B) 3-300 parts by mass of an inorganic filler; (C) 1-20 parts by mass of an organosilane that has at least 3 hydrolyzable groups per molecule thereof and/or a partial hydrolysis condensate of an organosilane that has at least 3 hydrolyzable groups per molecule thereof; (D) 0.01-5 parts by mass of a condensation cure catalyst; and (E) 0.1-5 parts by mass of a silane coupling agent (excluding component (C) and component (D)). The room-temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition gives cured products that retain low-elastic-modulus rubber elasticity over long periods of time and do not readily contaminate natural rock, coated aluminum, or the like.
Curable Compositions Comprising At Least One Silane-Modified Polymer
The invention relates to adhesive, sealant, and/or coating materials comprising a curable composition and the use thereof, the curable composition comprising I. at least one silane-modified polymer obtainable by reacting (A) at least one polymer terminated with amine groups at both ends, which polymer is selected from polyester, polyether polyols, poly(meth)acrylates, polyolefins, and/or copolymers of the aforementioned and has a molecular weight M.sub.w between 250 and 10,000 Dalton, (B) at least one cycloaliphatic diisocyanate compound, and (C) at least one secondary aminosilane with two hydrolysable groups; II. surface treated silica; III. surface treated calcium carbonate; IV. at least one additional aminosilane; V. optionally, at least one adhesion promoter; VI. optionally, at least one pigment; VII. optionally, at least one catalyst; VIII. optionally, at least one plasticizer.
