The footstool also comprises a foam top member secured to a top surface of the inner core and a cover material arranged over the plurality of side panels and the top member. The footstool further comprises a first base member in contact with the bottom surface of the inner core and a second base member in contact with the first base member and in contact with the cover material. The footstool is lightweight, easy to manufacture and low in cost.

In one embodiment of the buoyant pool lounge chair frame for supporting a floatation device while the buoyant pool chair frame is floating in water, a pod frame is provided including a rigid base portion and a window having a vertical opening therethrough. A substantially inverted parabolic surface is positioned at the front of the pod frame and a centra including a rigid back is positioned at the rear of the pod frame such that the window is therebetween. The pod frame is sized to accept a floatation device such that the substantially inverted parabolic surface and the centra engage the floatation device in a load-bearing relationship.

A longitudinal cut divides the distal portion into a left section and a right section, wherein each of the left section and the right section can flex upwards or downwards, and the left section and the right sections can be pulled towards each other in an overlapping manner. Suitable fasteners can retain the distal portion in the overlapping manner. The distal portion in the overlapping manner is contoured upwards to support the back of the user.

The sleeve may be formed from a rectangular sheet of polyurethane foam with opposed ends sealed together to form a continuous loop.

The soft foam outer surface may be upholstered with fabric or other traditional materials to finish the soft chair. The method of manufacturing comprises molding an inner structural shell from thermoplastic materials, encapsulating the inner structural shell in a soft foam material, optionally upholstering the outer surface of the soft foam material, and optionally providing a base.
