The present invention relates to a refrigerant composition, including trifluoroiodomethane (CF.sub.3I); 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze); difluoromethane (HFC-32), and pentafluoroethane (HFC-125) for use in a heat exchange system, including refrigeration applications and in particular aspects to the use of such compositions as a replacement of the refrigerant R-22 or R-404A for heating and cooling applications and to retrofitting heat exchange systems, including systems designed for use with R-22 or R-404A.
REFRIGERANT COMPOSITIONS AND USE THEREOF IN SYSTEMS USING FLOODED EVAPORATORS
Method for retrofitting an existing heat transfer system comprising adding to said existing system a refrigerant consisting essentially of: (i) from about 25% to about 45% by weight of 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFC-134a); (ii) from 25% to about 35% by weight of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234ze(E)) and/or 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf); and (iii) from about 37% to about 46% by weight of a combination of difluoromethane (HFC-32) and pentafluoroethane (HFC-125), provided that the weight ratio of HFO-32:HFC-125 is from about 1.21:1 to about 0.8:1, wherein the refrigerant preferably is a non-flammable refrigerant having a GWP of 1350 or less.

The present invention provides a mixed refrigerant having (1) a superior cooling COP compared to R410A, which is an existing alternative refrigerant to R22, and (2) an equal or superior refrigerating effect in comparison with R22, even under conditions of use in which the condensation temperature setting is high, such as at a high outside air temperature. The present invention pertains to a composition containing refrigerants, the refrigerant containing HFC-32, HFC-125, and HFC-134a, the mass ratio of the three components being, in a ternary composition diagram having the three components as respective apexes, in the range of a triangle having the following three points as apexes: point A (HFC32/HFC125/HFC134a=36/25/39 mass %); point B (HFC32/HFC125/HFC134a=36/31/33 mass %); and point C (HFC32/HFC125/HFC134a=43/34/23 mass %).

The present invention relates to a composition comprising HFO-1234yf, or trans-HFO-1234ze, or a mixture thereof; HFC-32; and HFC-152a, HFO-1243zf, or a mixture thereof, wherein said composition is selected from the group consisting of: (I) a first composition, wherein said HFO-1234yf or trans-HFO-1234ze or a mixture thereof is at least 56 weight percent of said first composition; (II) a second composition, wherein said HFC-32 is at most 29 weight percent of said second composition; (III) a third composition, wherein said HFC-152a is at least 56 weight percent said third composition; (IV) a fourth composition, wherein said HFC-32 is at least 56 weight percent of said fourth composition; (V) a fifth composition comprising trans-HFO-1234ze, HFC-32, and HFC-152a, HFO-1243zf, or a mixture thereof; and (VI) a sixth composition, wherein said HFO-1243zf or mixture thereof with HFC-152a is at most 20 weight percent of said sixth composition.
Tetrafluoropropene compositions and uses thereof
The present invention relates to compositions for use in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pump systems wherein the composition comprises a tetrafluoropropene and at least one other component. The compositions of the present invention are useful in processes for producing cooling or heat, as heat transfer fluids, foam blowing agents, aerosol propellants, and fire suppression and fire extinguishing agents.

COMPOSITION CONTAINING MIXTURE OF FLUORINATED HYDROCARBONS, AND USE THEREOF
The present invention provides a refrigerant composition that has a low GWP and ASHRAE non-flammability performance. Specifically, the present invention provides a composition comprising a mixture of fluorinated hydrocarbons, the mixture comprising difluoromethane (R32), pentafluoroethane (R125), 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (R134a), and 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (1234yf) at specific concentrations.
REFRIGERANT WITH LUBRICATING OIL FOR REPLACEMENT OF R22 REFRIGERANT
An apparatus and method wherein potential ozone layer-damaging chlorodifluoromethane (Refrigerant R-22) is substituted with a mix of less environmentally damaging refrigerants pentafluoroethane and tetrafluoroethane in chlorodifluoromethane-based air-cooling systems mainly in residential cooling. While less environmentally damaging than chlorodifluoromethane, the substitute refrigerant has a temperature-pressure relationship similar to that of chlorodifluoromethane, making the substitute refrigerant suitable for use with chlorodifluoromethane-based air-cooling systems. In this event, it is mixed with a relatively small percentage of a lubricating oil which is compatible with both the unit refrigerant and typical R-22 system design.

System and method for retrofitting a refrigeration system from HCFC to HFC refrigerant
A system and method for retrofitting a refrigeration system containing an HCFC refrigerant and a compatible lubricant, with an HFC refrigerant, comprising providing a transport container containing a mixture of about 5-15% by weight of a miscible lubricant and the HFC refrigerant, removing the HCFC refrigerant from the refrigeration system while maintaining at least a portion of a lubricant immiscible with the HFC refrigerant, and charging the refrigeration system with the mixture.
