The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device that can sufficiently prevent crystallization of a liquid crystal material at low temperatures, and thereby has high response performance suitable for applications such as HMDs. The liquid crystal display device includes: paired substrates; a liquid crystal layer held between the substrates; and a photo-alignment film disposed on a surface facing the liquid crystal layer of at least one of the substrates, the liquid crystal layer containing a liquid crystal material that has a nematic-isotropic phase transition temperature of 75 C. or lower and a nematic phase temperature range narrower than 100 C., the photo-alignment film containing a polymer, the polymer and/or another component of the photo-alignment film containing a hydrophobic group.

The present invention aims to provide a liquid crystal display device in which image sticking and stains are sufficiently reduced. The present invention relates to an alignment film including: a polymer, wherein the polymer is a polysiloxane or a polyvinyl and contains a silsesquioxane group. The present invention also relates to a polymer for use in the alignment film, the polymer containing a silsesquioxane group. The present invention also relates to a liquid crystal display device including: the alignment film; a pair of substrates; and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the substrates, wherein the alignment film is disposed between at least one of the substrates and the liquid crystal layer.

The disclosure provides a reactive perpendicular aligned organosilicon material and a manufacture method of a liquid crystal display panel, a general structural formula of the reactive perpendicular aligned organosilicon material is A-R, A is SiCl.sub.3; R represents a linear chained or a branched chained alkyl group with 520 C atoms, a CH.sub.2 group in the alkyl group is substituted by a phenyl group, a naphthenic base, CONH, COO, OCO, S, CO or CHCH, or a F atom or a Cl atom substitutes for a H atom in the alkyl group. A Cl atom in the reactive perpendicular aligned organosilicon material and OH on a surface of the substrate without a PI film can form a hydrogen bond, leading to vertical arrangement of liquid crystal molecules.
SEALANT FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL SEALING, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
The present invention aims to provide a sealant for sealing liquid crystal and a liquid crystal display device, which can sufficiently reduce image sticking and stains at the periphery of a liquid crystal display. The sealant for sealing liquid crystal of the present invention contains a curable resin and a radical polymerization initiator, wherein the radical polymerization initiator contains a silsesquioxane group. The silsesquioxane group is preferably a group represented by the following formula (I) or (II):

Shown is a liquid crystal display device having characteristics such as a short response time, a large voltage holding ratio, low threshold voltage, a large contrast ratio and a long service life. A polymer sustained alignment mode liquid crystal display device includes an electrode group formed on one or both of a pair of substrates arranged with facing each other, a plurality of active devices connected to the electrode group, liquid crystal alignment films formed on surfaces facing each other of the pair of substrates, respectively, and a liquid crystal composition interposed between the pair of substrates, in which the liquid crystal alignment film contains at least one polymer selected from polyorganosiloxane, polyamic acid, polyamic acid ester and polyimide, and the liquid crystal composition contains a specific compound having negative dielectric anisotropy as a first component.

The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device that can exhibit a long-lasting favorable voltage holding ratio and prevent deterioration of reliability. A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal device that includes forming an inorganic alignment layer by emitting an alignment film material that is made of an inorganic material in an oblique direction onto a substrate, and forming an organic alignment layer that is a monomolecular film made of an organic material chemically bonded with the inorganic alignment layer on a surface of the inorganic alignment layer by treating the surface of the inorganic alignment layer with a silane coupling agent that has an alkyl group, wherein a pretilt angle of a liquid crystal molecule is set to a desired angle by selecting the silane coupling agent by the number of carbon atoms.
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ALIGNMENT FILM
The present disclosure provides a liquid crystal display device that can maintain a high voltage holding ratio for extended periods and can ensure reliability. A liquid crystal display device according to the present disclosure includes a pair of opposing substrates, a liquid crystal layer between the pair of substrates, and an alignment film between at least one of the pair of substrates and the liquid crystal layer. At least one of the pair of substrates has an electrode and/or wire containing copper or aluminum. The alignment film contains a polymer with a chemical structure on a side chain of the polymer, the chemical structure having a benzotriazole group represented by a specific chemical formula.
Liquid crystal composition
A liquid crystal composition, a liquid crystal film and a display device are provided. The liquid crystal composition can be uniformly aligned with no problems such as dewetting in an operation of aligning horizontally alignable liquid crystals. Also, a state of the aligned liquid crystal compound can be stably maintained.
