A cushion body for sitting is provided which can offer good feeling of sitting even to many unspecified users of various body shapes and allow them to be seated more comfortably. A cushion body for sitting (1) includes: a base part (2) having a sitting surface (S1) formed of a curved surface that is curved concavely to support, from below, the buttocks of a seated person in a seated posture; and a pair of side supporting portions (3) each having a side supporting surface (S2) formed of a curved surface that is curved continuously from the sitting surface (S1) of the base part (2), where the pair of side supporting portions (3) project from sides of the base part (2) such that the side supporting portions (3) can be bent and deformed by a load applied to the side supporting surfaces (S2), so as to support both the left and right parts of the buttocks of the seated person in the seated posture.

A chair support shell has an integral back portion, seat portion, and joining portion between the back portion and the seat portion. At least a major portion of the support shell comprises a compliant structure, the compliant structure having a plurality of cells interconnected by a plurality of resilient members. The compliant structure provides compliance in the seat portion, compliance in the back portion, and compliance in the joining portion. The compliant structure enables recline of the back portion relative to the seat portion.

A folding chair includes front and rear supports that fold and/or retract into central beams to reduce the space occupied by the chair in a folded configuration. A backrest is coupled to the central beams with a hub that allows an angle of the backrest relative to the central beams to be selected and for the backrest to be folded flat relative to the central beams. One or more actuators and pin actuators may control the relative movements of the backrest, front support, rear support, and central beams.

A seat assembly includes a base and a support platform spaced above the base. The support platform includes a pad having a hinge portion defining a flex region, wherein the pad is pivotable about the flex region. A link has a lower portion coupled to the base and an upper portion coupled to the pad, wherein the upper portion is pivotable with the pad about the flex region.

A portable chair apparatus for assisting the user with comfort, storage, and transportation includes a base, a seat with an opening, a storage compartment between the base and the seat, a back support column, a lumbar support piece, a handle, and a light. The back support column is adjustable relative to the seat between an open and closed position. The lumbar support piece is adjustable along the back support column and is sized to fit within the opening of the seat when the back support column is in the closed position. The light is on the top surface of the back support column. The chair can further include a handle having a light directed towards the space in front of the user when holding the chair. Presented is a seating apparatus that is enabled to allow a doctor or a surgeon to achieve an appropriate sitting posture during surgery. The seating apparatus includes a seat mount, a strut, a back-rest, a pedal, a seat and a support base. The seat is connected to the seat mount through a fastening means such that the seat is suspended over the seat mount leaving a gap between the seat and the seat mount. The pedal is operatively coupled to a lower end of the strut and the pedal is configured to adjust height of the seat in a hands-free manner. The seating apparatus is modular and it provides an option to user to easily disassemble various components of seating apparatus for easy portability of the seating apparatus.

A seat cushion provided for supporting a sitting person, including a seat portion having an upwardly facing surface and a downwardly facing surface; a plurality of mutually spaced inclined grooves formed in the seat portion; wherein the inclined grooves extend along at least a portion of the distance between the upwardly facing surface and the downwardly facing surface.

A themed stool that includes a seat, a mainframe component supporting the seat, an inner shaft disposed within the mainframe component, a lower shaft that receives the inner shaft, and a removable base to the lower shaft. The themed stool also includes a mounting bracket assembly that removably attached a three dimensional ornamental figure, a silhouette of a themed figure, or a decorative graphic to the mainframe component of the stool. The mounting bracket assembly can also be removably attached to any stool. The mounting bracket assembly includes a mounting bracket removably attached to one of the three dimensional ornamental figure and the silhouette of a themed figure and at least one attachment bracket that removably attaches the mounting bracket assembly to the shaft of any stool.
