Lubricant base stock production from recycled oil
Systems and methods are provided for co-processing of used lubricant oils with a coker feedstock in a fluidized coking process to form lubricant base stocks. The fluidized coking process can remove contaminants and/or additives from used lubricant oils with modest conversion of the lubricant boiling range portion.
PROCESSES FOR COMMENCING OPERATIONS OF FLUIDIZED CATALYTIC REACTOR SYSTEMS
A process for commencing a continuous reaction in a reactor system includes introducing a catalyst to a catalyst processing portion of the reactor system, the catalyst initially having a first temperature of 500 C or less, and contacting the catalyst at the first temperature with a commencement fuel gas stream, which includes at least 80 mol % commencement fuel gas, in the catalyst processing portion. Contacting of the catalyst with the commencement fuel gas stream causes combustion of the commencement fuel gas. The process includes maintaining the contacting of the catalyst with the commencement fuel gas stream until the temperature of the catalyst increases from the first temperature to a second temperature at which combustion of a regenerator fuel source maintains an operating temperature range in the catalyst processing portion.

SIMPLIFIED FUELS REFINING
Systems and methods are provided for refining crude oils and/or other broad boiling range feedstocks to form fuels. A flash separation can be used to separate the feed into a lower boiling fraction and a higher boiling fraction. After the flash separation, the higher boiling portion is passed into a pyrolysis reactor for conversion of higher boiling compounds and formation of light olefins. The lower boiling fraction can be combined with the resulting pyrolysis effluent as a quench stream. The combined, partially pyrolyzed stream can then be passed into an olefin oligomerization process to convert the olefins formed during pyrolysis into naphtha and/or diesel boiling range compounds. After the olefin oligomerization process, one or more separations can be performed to generate various fractions, including but not limited to a naphtha fraction, a distillate fuel fraction, a fuel oil fraction, a light hydrocarbon recycle stream, and a CO.sub.2-containing stream. Optionally, the naphtha fraction, the distillate fraction, and/or the fuel oil fraction can be hydrotreated.
Advanced steam cracking
A process and system that use the heat produced in the generation of Syngas to provide heat to an endothermic reaction zone are disclosed. A method for providing heat to an endothermic reaction may comprise producing Syngas in a reforming reactor. The method may further comprise recovering heat from the producing the Syngas to heat an endothermic reaction stream in a heat transfer zone. The method may further comprise allowing reactants in the endothermic reaction stream to react to form an endothermic reaction product stream. The method may further comprise withdrawing the endothermic reaction product stream from the heat transfer zone.

Processes and Systems for Upgrading a Hydrocarbon-Containing Feed
Processes for converting a hydrocarbon-containing feed by pyrolysis and gasification/combustion. The hydrocarbon-containing feed and heated particles can be fed into a pyrolysis zone and contacted therein to effect pyrolysis of the hydrocarbons and produce a pyrolysis effluent. A gaseous stream rich in olefins and a particle stream rich in particles that include coke disposed thereon can be obtained from the pyrolysis effluent. A CO.sub.2-rich stream that includes, on a dry basis, CO.sub.2 at a concentration 90 vol %, based on the total volume of the CO.sub.2-rich stream, can be obtained from the gasification/combustion gas mixture.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR HEAVY OIL LIGHTENING AND SYNTHESIS GAS PRODUCTION
A method for heavy oil lightening and synthesis gas production and a device thereof are provided, where the method uses a cracking/gasification coupled reactor, which internally has a cracking section and a gasification section that communicate with each other, and includes the following steps: feeding a heavy oil material into the cracking section to implement a cracking reaction, to produce a light oil gas and a coke; the coke being carried by the coke powders and descending into the gasification section to implement a gasification reaction, to produce a synthesis gas; at least performing a first stage gas-solid separation, collecting coke powder particles and dividing them into two parts; performing an oil and gas fractionation on a purified oil and gas product output by the gas-solid separation system, and collecting a light oil product and a synthesis gas product.
