HYDROTREATING CATALYST WITH A TITANIUM CONTAINING CARRIER AND SULFUR CONTAINING ORGANIC ADDITIVE
Generally, it is disclosed a catalyst for use in a hydrotreating hydrocarbon feedstocks and the method of making such catalyst. It is generically provided that the catalyst comprises at least one Group VIB metal component, at least one Group VIII metal component, about (1) to (about (30) wt % C, and preferably about (1) to about (20) wt % C, and more preferably about (5) to about 15 wt % C of one or more sulfur containing organic additive and a titanium-containing carrier component, wherein the amount of the titanium component is in the range of about (3) to (about (60) wt %, expressed as an oxide (Ti0.sub.2) and based on the total weight of the catalyst. The titanium-containing carrier is formed by co-extruding or precipitating a titanium source with a Al203 precursor to form a porous support material comprising Al.sub.20.sub.3 or by impregnating a titanium source onto a porous support material comprising Al.sub.20.sub.3.

A process plant for conducting the process is also disclosed.

Provided is a technology to convert an oil having a high content of Cl into a solvent. Impurities such as Cl, S, N, and metals are removed from an oil having a boiling point of 340 C. or lower in a waste oil having a high content of Cl, and hydrogenation is carried out to recover an oil, and the oil may be applied as a solvent. Separation by boiling points to meet the properties of the solvent product is performed, a solid acid material and an oil having a high Cl content are mixed, impurities are removed by a heat treatment at a high temperature, and hydrogenation is carried out with a metal oxide catalyst, thereby manufacturing a solvent product.

HIGH PRESSURE HYDROFINISHING FOR LUBRICANT BASE OIL PRODUCTION
Systems and methods are provided for catalytic hydroprocessing to form lubricant base oils. The methods can include performing high pressure hydrofinishing after fractionating the hydrotreated and/or hydrocracked and/or dewaxed effluent. Performing hydrofinishing after fractionation can allow the high hydrogen pressure for hydrofinishing to be used on one or more lubricant base oil fractions that are desirable for high pressure hydrofinishing. This can allow for improved aromatic saturation of a lubricant base oil product while reducing or minimizing the hydrogen consumption. The high pressure hydrofinishing can be performed at a hydrogen partial pressure of at least about 2500 psig (17.2 Mpa), or at least about 2600 psig (18.0 Mpa), or at least about 3000 psig (20.6 MPa). The high pressure hydrofinishing can allow for formation of a lubricant base oil product with a reduced or minimized aromatics content, a reduced or minimized 3-ring aromatics content, or a combination thereof.

A process plant for conducting the process for conducting the process is disclosed.
