DEMETALLIZATION BY DELAYED COKING AND GAS PHASE OXIDATIVE DESULFURIZATION OF DEMETALLIZED RESIDUAL OIL
The invention is an integrated process for treating residual oil of a hydrocarbon feedstock. The oil is first subjected to delayed coking and then oxidative desulfurization. Additional, optional steps including hydrodesulfurization, and hydrocracking, may also be incorporated in to the integrated process.
Hydroprocessing reactor internals having reduced height
The hydroprocessing reactor internals (HRI) have reduced height compared to standard HRI designs. In this design, HRI height reduction is achieved by placing a mixing chamber above the collection tray. A ring quench distributor is located around the fluid collection tray between the mixing chamber and reactor shell to eliminate the vertical space occupied by the distributor. The hydroprocessing reactor quench zone internals comprise a collection tray, a mixing chamber, a ring distributor, a rough liquid distribution tray, and a vapor-liquid distribution tray. Fluid mixing occurs in the mixing chamber and above the rough liquid distribution tray.

FLUIDIZED BED PROCESSES AND CATALYST SYSTEMS FOR FISCHER-TROPSCH CONVERSION
Processes and catalyst systems are disclosed for performing Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis to produce C.sub.4.sup.+ hydrocarbons, such as gasoline boiling-range hydrocarbons and/or diesel boiling-range hydrocarbons. Advantageously, catalyst systems described herein have additional activity (beyond FT activity) for in situ hydroisomerization and/or hydrocracking of wax that is generated according to the distribution of hydrocarbons obtained from the FT synthesis reaction. This not only improves the yield of hydrocarbons (e.g., C.sub.4-19 hydrocarbons) that are useful for transportation fuels, but also allows for alternative reactor types, such as a fluidized bed reactor.
Device for distributing a polyphase mixture in a chamber containing a fluidized medium
Device for distributing a light fluid phase (2) in a heavy phase (4) in the fluidized state in a reaction chamber (5), comprising: a pipe (1) for transporting the light fluid phase; first and second windows (7, 8) created in the pipe, the second windows opening into the reaction chamber; and branches (6) extending each first window and splitting into: a central passage opening into the reaction chamber via an intermediate window (9) created in the upper wall of the branch (6); and at least two distinct lateral branches forming two lateral passages (10) opening into the reaction chamber via end-of-branch windows (11).
