An adaptable chair with multiple adjustable components that may be configured by the user for various seating positions, particularly to change between conventional and cross-legged seating position. The adaptable chair's seating surface is comprised of a set of separate surface components for each of the user's right and left thighs. In a conventional seating configuration, the seating surface components are in a closed or joined position and the footrest in an unobtrusive position. To configure the chair for cross-legged seating, the seat components for each thigh may be moved apart to allow a user cross-legged seating position and rest the feet and lower legs upon the footrest. The disclosure describes various means of adjustment to the thigh supports and footrest, and mechanisms for actuating the various configurations to maximize comfort and ease of use.

FURNITURE MEMBER WITH ADJUSTABLE SEAT HEIGHT

A furniture member may include a base assembly and a seat assembly. The base assembly may include a base structure, a post, a support frame, and a height-adjustment mechanism. The post extends vertically upward from the base structure. The support frame may include a cross member and a sleeve. The sleeve may slidably and rotatably receive the post for vertical movement of the support frame relative to the base structure along a longitudinal axis of the post and for rotational movement relative to the base structure about the longitudinal axis. The height-adjustment mechanism may include a height-adjustment actuator configured to move the support frame vertically along the longitudinal axis. The cross member of the support frame may include a pair of rocker springs mounted thereon. The seat assembly may be mounted on the rocker springs and may include a seat bottom, a seatback, and armrest members.

A multimedia chair includes a base, seat support, seat, opposing side supports, and arm rests supported on the opposing side supports. A controller is supported by an arm rest attached to a side support, and a display and multimedia module are supported and connected to a controller supported by one of the arm rests. An adjustable foot support and reclinable back seat are actuated by a user authorization module, wherein upon receiving a credit card authorization or wireless authorization signal from a wireless device, the seat is enabled for use. The reclinable back seat is pivotally connected to one of the opposing side supports and an adjustable foot support is pivotally attached to the seat.

LEGREST MECHANISM FOR FURNITURE MEMBER

A furniture member may include a seat assembly and a legrest assembly. The seat assembly includes a seat bottom and a seatback. The legrest assembly may include a legrest platform and articulating arm assemblies. Each articulating arm assembly may include first and second link-housings and first and second control links. The first link-housings may be rotatably attached to the seat bottom. The second link-housings may be rotatably attached to respective first link-housings and the legrest platform. The first control links may be disposed within respective first link-housings. Rotation of the first link-housings relative to the seat bottom may cause relative movement between the first control links and the first link-housings and relative movement between the first control links and the second link-housings. The second control links may be disposed at least partially within respective second link-housings and may be movably coupled to the second link-housings and to the legrest platform.

20240237831 · 2024-07-18 ·

An anti-pinch system for an electric seat includes a plurality of infrared sensing modules, a seat cushion hose, a footrest hose, a pressure sensor, at least one linear actuator, a central processing unit, a power module and a control module. When the user operates the electric seat to act, the plurality of infrared sensing modules and the pressures sensor synchronously sense whether an obstacle is under the electric seat. If an obstacle exists under the electric seat, the central processing unit will control the at least one actuator to stop or to reversely act. When the user cannot perceive obstacles by themselves, the electric seat can be automatically prevented from pinching obstacles, thus avoiding damaging the obstacles or the electric seat.
