PROCESSING OF HEAVY HYDROCARBON FEEDS
Systems and methods are provided for hydroconversion of a heavy oil feed under slurry hydroprocessing conditions and/or solvent assisted hydroprocessing conditions. The systems and methods for slurry hydroconversion can include the use of a configuration that can allow for improved separation of catalyst particles from the slurry hydroprocessing effluent. In addition to allowing for improved catalyst recycle, an amount of fines in the slurry hydroconversion effluent can be reduced or minimized. This can facilitate further processing or handling of any “pitch” generated during the slurry hydroconversion. The systems and methods for solvent assisted hydroprocessing can include processing of a heavy oil feed in conjunction with a high solvency dispersive power crude.
Methods of whole crude and whole crude wide cut hydrotreating low hetroatom content petroleum
Method of refining whole crude oil or a wide cut crude oil, the methods comprising a combination of a hydrotreating reactor, a distillation tower, and an optional flash evaporation separator. The methods can also include light ends processing, fluid catalytic cracking, reforming, hydrocracking, and demetalization. In some methods a whole crude oil is first processed through a flash evaporation separator to create a wide cut crude oil and in other methods, the flash evaporation separator is not used as the whole crude oil is first treated in a hydrotreater.
PROCESS
A process for the manufacture of a useful product from carbonaceous feedstock of fluctuating compositional characteristics, the process comprising the steps of: continuously providing the carbonaceous feedstock of fluctuating compositional characteristics to a gasification zone; gasifying the carbonaceous feedstock in the gasification zone to obtain raw synthesis gas; sequentially removing ammoniacal, sulphurous and carbon dioxide impurities from the raw synthesis gas to form desulphurised gas and recovering carbon dioxide in substantially pure form; converting at least a portion of the desulphurised synthesis gas to a useful product. Despite having selected a more energy intensive sub-process i.e. physical absorption for removal of acid gas impurities, the overall power requirement of the facility is lower on account of lower steam requirements and thereby leading to a decrease in the carbon intensity score for the facility.
PRODUCTION OF RENEWABLE CRUDE OIL
The present disclosure relates to methods for the production of a renewable crude oil from plant oils and animal fats. The renewable crude is a drop-in renewable crude that can be processed in a petroleum refinery with minimal or no modifications.
TREATMENT OF PLASTIC-DERIVED OIL
A system for the treatment of a liquid plastic-derived oil having a pretreating section that includes a pretreating system having one or more reactors that may receive the liquid plastic-derived oil having one or more contaminants and a first contamination level. The one or more reactors includes a sorbent material having a faujasite (FAU) crystal framework type zeolitic molecular sieve and that may remove a first portion of the one or more contaminants from the liquid plastic-derived oil and generate a treated liquid plastic-derived oil having a second contamination level that is less than the first contamination level. The liquid plastic-derived oil is derived from a solid plastic waste (SPW), and the first portion of the one or more contaminants includes a halogen.
Conversion of glycerol to fuel-range organic compounds
A process for producing fuel-range organic oxygen-containing compounds is provided. The process includes converting glycerol in the presence of a metal oxide catalyst. The fuel-range organic oxygen-containing compounds can be deoxygenated to produce gasoline and jet fuels or fuel blending components.

Configuration for olefins production
Processes herein may be used to thermally crack various hydrocarbon feeds, and may eliminate the refinery altogether while making the crude to chemicals process very flexible in terms of crude. In embodiments herein, crude is progressively separated into at least light and heavy fractions. Depending on the quality of the light and heavy fractions, these are routed to one of three upgrading operations, including a fixed bed hydroconversion unit, a fluidized catalytic conversion unit, or a residue hydrocracking unit that may utilize an ebullated bed reactor. Products from the upgrading operations may be used as feed to a steam cracker.

Device comprising lateral injections of liquid for limiting the phenomena of solid deposits in items of equipment with a conical bottom
A device for the descending flow of a hydrocarbon-containing liquid containing solid particles at the bottom of an item of equipment (1) and a process for the conversion of hydrocarbon-containing feedstocks implementing said device.
