Turbine fuel provided for large-scale land based turbines used by utilities for producing electricity and desalinated water, and for large mobile engines and turbines in marine and remote applications where only liquid fuels are available. Use results in less corrosion, ash formation and emissions (NOx, SOx, CO2 and noxious metals) than firing contaminated heavy crude, refinery residual oils or high sulfur fuel oils. Manufacture is by decontaminating crude oils, non-conventional crudes, and other highly contaminated feeds. Each fuel is produced as a single product of unit operations, not ex-plant blend of various refinery products, yet using an apparatus configuration less complex than conventional crude oil refining. These fuels can be fired by advanced high efficiency turbines of combined cycle power plants having hot flow paths and heat recovery steam generation systems susceptible to corrosion, which systems cannot otherwise risk contaminated heavy crudes or refinery residual oils feeds.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS OF STEAM STRIPPING A HYDROCRACKING FEEDSTOCK
A process for producing cracked hydrocarbons from a feedstock, which includes a top portion that boils below 375° C. and a bottom portion that boils above 375° C., may include stripping the feedstock in a stripper to isolate the top portion from the bottom portion, hydrocracking the bottom portion in one or more hydrocracking reactors to produce a hydrocracked effluent, separating the hydrocracked effluent in a separating unit to produce a light product stream, a distillate stream, and a heavy unconverted stream; and recycling the heavy unconverted stream to an earlier stage of the process.
Two-stage recycle hydrocracking processes
A two-stage recycle hydrocracking process may comprise hydrocracking at least a portion of a hydrocarbon feed to produce a first hydrocracked effluent, separating the first hydrocracked effluent into at least four separated effluents, hydrocracking at least a portion of the fourth separated effluent to produce a second hydrocracked effluent, and cooling the second hydrocracked effluent to a temperature less than or equal to 250 degrees Celsius to produce a cooled effluent. The second hydrocracking effluent may have a total concentration of aromatic compounds sufficient to maintain the solubility of heavy polynuclear aromatics in the second hydrocracked effluent and reduce precipitation of the heavy polynuclear aromatics in the second hydrocracked effluent. Processes for reducing or preventing the precipitation of heavy polynuclear aromatics during hydrocracking are also described.
HYDROREFINING CATALYST, PREPARATION METHOD THEREFOR AND USE THEREOF
Disclosed is a hydrofining catalyst comprising: an inorganic refractory component comprising a first hydrodesulfurization catalytically active component in a mixture with at least one oxide selected from the group consisting of alumina, silica, magnesia, calcium oxide, zirconia and titania; a second hydrodesulfurization catalytically active component; and an organic component comprising a carboxylic acid and optionally an alcohol. The hydrofining catalyst of the present application shows improved performance in the hydrofining of distillate oils. Also disclosed are a hydrofining catalyst system comprising the hydrofining catalyst, a method for preparing the catalyst and catalyst system, and a process for the hydrofining of distillate oils using the catalyst or catalyst system.
Production of high quality diesel by supercritical water process
A method for producing a diesel having improved cold flow properties, the method comprising the steps of introducing a crude oil to a distillation column, separating the crude oil in the distillation unit to produce a light gas oil, and a light vacuum gas oil, where the light gas oil has a T95% cut point in the range between 300 deg C. and 340 deg C., where the light vacuum gas oil has a T95% cut point in the range between 400 deg C. and 430 deg C., processing the light vacuum gas oil in the supercritical water unit to produce an upgraded vacuum gas oil, separating the upgraded vacuum gas oil in the fractionator to produce an upgraded light fraction, an upgraded light gas oil, and upgraded heavy fraction, introducing the upgraded light gas oil into a diesel pool, and blending the light gas oil into the diesel pool.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING LIGHT OLEFINS AND LOW-SULFUR FUEL OIL COMPONENTS
A process for producing propylene and a low-sulfur fuel oil component, comprising the steps of: i) contacting a hydrocarbon-containing feedstock oil with a catalytic conversion catalyst for reaction under effective conditions in a catalytic conversion reactor in the absence of hydrogen to obtain a reaction product comprising propylene; ii) separating the reaction product from step i) to obtain a catalytic cracking distillate oil, and iii) subjecting the catalytic cracking distillate oil to hydrodesulfurization to obtain a low-sulfur hydrogenated distillate oil suitable for use as a fuel oil component. The process can greatly improve the propylene selectivity and propylene yield while producing more fuel oil components, significantly reduce the yield of dry gas and coke, and thus has better economic and social benefits.
Two-step hydrocracking process for the production of naphtha comprising a hydrogenation step carried out upstream of the second hydrocracking step
The present invention is based on the use of a two-step hydrocracking process for the production of naphtha, comprising a step of hydrogenation placed upstream of the second hydrocracking step, the hydrogenation step treating the unconverted liquid fraction separated in the distillation step in the presence of a specific hydrogenation catalyst. Furthermore, the hydrogenation step and a second hydrocracking step are carried out under specific operating conditions and in particular under temperature conditions that are very specific with respect to one another.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CATALYTIC UPGRADING OF VACUUM RESIDUE TO DISTILLATE FRACTIONS AND OLEFINS WITH STEAM
Systems and methods for upgrading a heavy oil feed to a light product comprising distillate fractions and olefins, the method including combining a heavy oil feed with a naphtha-based cracking additive to produce a mixed heavy oil feed; heating the mixed heavy oil feed with a nano-zeolite catalyst in the presence of steam to effect catalytic upgrading of the mixed heavy oil feed to produce lighter distillate fractions and olefins in an upgraded product, the upgraded product including at least about 30 wt. % olefins; and separating the lighter distillate fractions from the olefins.
