OLEFIN AND AROMATICS PRODUCTION BY THE CATALYTIC PYROLYSIS OF POLYMERS
The invention comprises methods of catalytically pyrolyzing plastics. Since it has been discovered that plastics provide insufficient coke to provide adequate heat during catalyst regeneration, heat-forming additives can be introduced into the methods. Systems and compositions useful in the catalytic pyrolysis of plastics are also described.
ENHANCED LIGHT OLEFIN YIELD VIA STEAM CATALYTIC DOWNER PYROLYSIS OF HYDROCARBON FEEDSTOCK

Systems and methods can include a catalyst feed stream, where the catalyst feed stream comprises a fluid and a heterogeneous catalyst, the heterogeneous catalyst operable to catalyze cracking of the hydrocarbons on surfaces of the heterogeneous catalyst a steam feed stream, where the steam feed stream is operable to effect steam cracking of the hydrocarbons, and where the steam feed stream decreases coking of the heterogeneous catalyst; and a downflow reactor, where the downflow reactor is operable to accept and mix the hydrocarbon inlet stream, the catalyst feed stream, and the steam feed stream, where the downflow reactor is operable to produce light olefins by steam cracking and catalytic cracking, and where the downflow reactor is operable to allow the heterogeneous catalyst to flow downwardly by gravity.
Process and material for growth of adsorbed compound via nanoscale-controlled resistive heating and uses thereof
Disclosed is a method for making a material having supported micro- and/or nanostructures, the method includes (a) obtaining a substrate comprising a precursor material and an electrically conductive layer of micro- or nanostructures embedded into at least a portion of a first surface of the substrate, and (b) applying a voltage across the electrically conductive layer to heat the micro- or nanostructures, wherein the heat converts the precursor material into micro- and/or nanostructures.
Hydroprocessing of heavy crudes by catalysts in homogeneous phase
This disclosure relates to a procedure, which through the application of a catalyst in homogeneous phase, allows the transformation of heavy hydrocarbons (vacuum residue, atmospheric residue, heavy and extra-heavy crudes) into hydrocarbons of lower molecular weight, characterized because after its application, the hydrocarbons obtain greater API gravity, lower kinematic viscosity and different composition by hydrocarbon families (SARA) that increases the proportion of saturated and aromatic resins and asphalts. The sulphur and nitrogen content is also reduced, resulting in higher yields to high commercial value distillates and a lighter product as compared to the original crude.
TOWER BOTTOMS COKE CATCHING DEVICE
A coke catching apparatus for use in hydrocarbon cracking to assist in the removal of coke and the prevention of coke build up in high coking hydrocarbon processing units. The apparatus includes a grid device for preventing large pieces of coke from entering the outlet of the process refining equipment while allowing small pieces of coke to pass through and be disposed of. The coke catching apparatus can be easily disassembled to be removed from the refining process equipment and cleaned.
BLEND OF WASTE PLASTIC WITH BIO FEED AND PROCESS OF PREPARATION
Provided is a composition comprising a blend of a waste plastic and a bio feedstock. Also provided is a process for preparing a stable blend of a plastic and bio feedstock which can be stored or transported if desired. The amount of plastic in the blend comprises no more than 20 wt. % of the blend. The blend can be passed to a conversion unit for conversion of the waste plastic and bio feedstock. The conversion process produces clean monomers for polymerization and chemical intermediates.
Catalyst heat removal cluster and tube design
An external catalyst cooler arrangement for an FCC regenerator improves the operation of the catalyst cooler by the use of a heat removal unit design utilizing a central supply tube and central heat removal conduit surrounded by external heat removal tubes connected directly to the central heat removal conduit.
Process for the utilization of C.SUB.5 .hydrocarbons with integrated pygas treatment
Methods and systems for treating pygas are disclosed. Methods include depentanizing the pygas to produce a C.sub.5 stream and a C.sub.6+ stream before hydrotreating the C.sub.6+ stream, to integrate the processing of pygas with the production of isoprene, piperylene, and dicyclopentadiene. Systems include a depentanizer added before a pygas hydrotreatment unit.
A METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH-OCTANE MOTOR GASOLINES OF LOW-OCTANE HYDROCARBON FRACTIONS, FRACTIONS OF GASEOUS OLEFINS AND OXYGENATES AND A PLANT FOR THE METHOD EMBODIMENT
The invention relates to method and plant for the production of high-octane gasolines from raw hydrocarbon fractions, fractions of gaseous olefins and oxygenates. A method has been proposed, wherein the feedstock component flow is supplied to a unit for supplying flows to be treated, into the reactor, wherein the reaction is carried out in the presence of a zeolite-containing catalyst, high-octane gasoline is isolated by separation of the conversion product, while diverting simultaneously the reaction water and the exhaust gases. A reactor contains at least two reaction zones, between which there are further arranged means for mixing the reaction product from the previous reaction zone and the supplied oxygenates and olefin-containing feedstock, whereas using the unit for supplying flows there is supplied a flow oxygenates and olefin-containing feedstock and the flow of raw hydrocarbon fractions into the first reaction zone of the reactor, and the flow oxygenates and olefin-containing feedstock into the second reaction zone of the reactor.
