Three-stage energy-integrated product gas generation system
A multi-stage product gas generation system converts a carbonaceous material, such as municipal solid waste, into a product gas which may subsequently be converted into a liquid fuel or other material. One or more reactors containing bed material may be used to conduct reactions to effect the conversions. Unreacted inert feedstock contaminants present in the carbonaceous material may be separated from bed material using a portion of the product gas. A heat transfer medium collecting heat from a reaction in one stage may be applied as a reactant input in another, earlier stage.

Synthetic fuels and chemicals production with in-situ CO2 capture
Novel redox based systems for fuel and chemical production with in-situ CO.sub.2 capture are provided. A redox system using one or more chemical intermediates is utilized in conjunction with liquid fuel generation via indirect Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, direct hydro genation, or pyrolysis. The redox system is used to generate a hydrogen rich stream and/or CO.sub.2 and/or heat for liquid fuel and chemical production. A portion of the byproduct fuels and/or steam from liquid fuel and chemical synthesis is used as part of the feedstock for the redox system.
Pulverized coal drying system for pulverizer, pulverized coal drying method therefor, pulverized coal drying program, pulverizer, and integrated gasification combined cycle
An object of the present invention is to provide a pulverized coal drying system for a pulverizer, a pulverized coal drying method therefor, a pulverized coal drying program, a pulverizer, and an integrated gasification combined cycle capable of stably drying a carbonaceous feedstock irrespective of the type of the carbonaceous feedstock to be used. There is provided a controller (50) of a pulverizer (10) that dries a supplied carbonaceous feedstock by using a drying fluid and includes a flow rate controller that controls the flow rate of the drying fluid within upper and lower limits of the flow rate of the drying fluid that are set to dry a plurality of types of the carbonaceous feedstock having different moisture contents in such a way that the temperature of the drying fluid discharged from the pulverizer (10) approaches a target temperature.
Syngas cooler
A syngas cooler is configured to cool a syngas. The syngas cooler includes a superheater heat exchanger, which further includes a first header configured to receive saturated steam, a second header configured to discharge superheated steam, and a first group of tubes directly coupled to and vertically extending between the first and second headers. Each tube of the first group of tubes includes an outer surface that interfaces with the syngas and a respective length between the first and second headers, and each tube of the first group of tubes does not contact another tube along the respective length to enable a flow of the syngas around each tube's outer surface along its respective length and between each tube.

SUPERCRITICAL WATER GASIFICATION WITH DECOUPLED PRESSURE AND HEAT TRANSFER MODULES
The present invention discloses a system and method for supercritical water gasification (SCWG) of biomass materials wherein the system includes a SCWG reactor and a plurality of heat exchangers located within a shared pressurized vessel, which decouples the function of containing high pressure from the high temperature function. The present invention allows the heat transfer function to be conducted independently from the pressure transfer function such that the system equipment can be designed and fabricated in manner that would support commercial scaled-up SCWG operations. By using heat exchangers coupled to the reactor in a series configuration, significant efficiencies are achieved by the present invention SCWG system over prior known SCWG systems.
