Process and a reaction apparatus for the gasification of wet biomass
A process for the gasification of wet biomass. The process comprises heating wet biomass at a pressure in the range of from 22.1 MPa to 35 MPa. The wet biomass is heated from a temperature of at most T.sub.1 to a temperature of at least T.sub.2 by heat exchange with a first heating fluid. The gasification product is further heated. The further heated gasification product is used as the first heating fluid, upon which the further heated gasification product is cooled down from a temperature of at least T.sub.3 to a temperature of at most T.sub.4. The temperatures T.sub.1, T.sub.2, T.sub.3 and T.sub.4 can be calculated by using certain mathematical formulae. Also claimed: a reaction apparatus for the gasification of wet biomass.
COOLING DEVICE FOR A BURNER OF A GASIFICATION REACTOR
A gasification reactor comprises a pressure shell; a reaction zone partly bounded by a tubular membrane wall enclosed by the pressure shell; at least one burner having a burner head, said burner head protruding the membrane wall; at least one cooling device arranged in the membrane wall and enclosing the burner head of at least one burner, the at least one cooling device comprising several concentric rings of increasing diameter, forming a truncated cone shape having a largest diameter opening facing the reaction zone and a smallest diameter opening facing the burner head, each ring being a conduit having an inlet and an outlet for a cooling medium, the smallest diameter opening for the burner head being located between the pressure shell and the membrane wall; the cooling device comprising at least one part-circular outer ring having an interruption.
GASIFICATION PROCESS AND FEED SYSTEM
A process for the gasification of a solid carbonaceous feed, the process comprising the steps of: introducing a batch of the solid carbonaceous feed into a sluice vessel, while an internal pressure in the sluice vessel is at a first pressure; introducing at least recycled CO2 into the sluice vessel via one or more gas inlets covered by the solid carbonaceous feed, to pressurize the sluice vessel from the first pressure to a second pressure exceeding the first pressure, during a predetermined time period; closing the one or more gas inlets; opening a feed outlet of the sluice vessel to supply the batch of the solid carbonaceous feed to a feed vessel for feeding the solid carbonaceous feed to a gasification reactor; closing the feed outlet; venting the sluice vessel to reduce the internal pressure to the first pressure; and repeating the process.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING SYNGAS
A method for generating syngas comprising heating woodchips in a vessel comprising a circulatory pathway and a heat generator in thermal communication with the circulator pathway to thermally degenerate the woodchips by pyrolysis with the woodchips forming biochar and releasing syngas when undergoing pyrolysis. The method further comprises circulating the generated syngas along the circulatory pathway to thereby filter the syngas through at least one of the woodchips and the biochar undergoing pyrolysis, and discharging the filtered syngas from the vessel.
Burner with only oxidation reaction space for reactor with only reduction reaction space
The present disclosure provides a burner for a reduction reactor, the reduction reactor has a reaction space formed therein, wherein each burner has a fuel feeding hole and multiple oxygen feeding holes formed therein, wherein each burner has an elongate combustion space formed at one end of a head portion thereof, the combustion space fluid-communicating with the reaction space of the reactor, wherein the elongate combustion space has a length such that oxygen supplied from the oxygen feeding holes thereto is completely consumed via oxidation or combustion with fuels supplied from the fuel feeding hole thereto only in the elongate combustion space upon igniting the burner.
Burner for the gasification of a solid fuel
The invention is directed to a burner for the gasification of a solid fuel, comprising a burner front having an opening for discharging a solid fuel, wherein the opening for discharging the solid fuel is fluidly connected to a central passage way and wherein the central passage way has a downstream part wherein the diameter of the passage way increases over a first length and subsequently decreases over a second length terminating at the burner front and wherein inside the downstream part of the central passage way a hollow member is positioned, and wherein the hollow member has an internal increasing diameter and inner decreasing diameter aligned with the increasing and decreasing diameter of the hollow member and wherein the connecting conduits have a discharge opening positioned in the diverging part of the hollow member.
Method for gasifying a biomass and respective gasifier
A method for producing syngas from preferably vegetal biomass is described. The method provides for the use of a fixed bed gasifier, equipped with two reactors. The biomass is fed to both reactors together with a primary flow rate of air. Advantageously, the method according to the present invention is different from the known art since a secondary flow rate of air is withdrawn from the first reactor at the area where the biomass dries, and fed to the second reactor at the area where the biomass dries, and vice versa, alternately during time. Alternatively, an oscillating air flow is created in each reactor. The achievable result is a greater syngas production, but not exclusively. The syngas quality is improved too, since the biomass has a longer time for completing the gasification reactions.
