Pyrolysis Reactor System and Method
20180371322 · 2018-12-27 ·

A system and method for the pyrolysis of a pyrolysis feedstock utilizes a pyrolysis reactor having a pyrolysis conduit and a solids return conduit segment. Each segment is configured with an outlet and an inlet to receive and discharge solid materials that are circulated through the reactor through the different segments. A solids conveyor is disposed within the pyrolysis conduit segment to facilitate conveying solid materials from the solids inlet upward through the pyrolysis conduit segment toward the solids discharge outlet. A pyrolysis feedstock is introduced into the pyrolysis reactor and at least a portion of the feedstock is converted to pyrolysis gases within the pyrolysis conduit segment, which are discharged through a gas outlet.

An eductor condenser unit with an eductor assembly having a venturi-restricted flow path for receives a pressurized coolant fluid. A second flow path for receiving the discharged pyrolysis gases intersects the venturi-restricted flow path so that the received pyrolysis gases are combined with the coolant fluid and are discharged together to a mixing chamber that is used to condense pyrolysis gases.

Apparatus for processing a biomass

An apparatus to convert carbonaceous materials, particularly biomass and those biomass resources which are remotely located, into a solid material, which may be a high performance solid fuel, are presented. The apparatus provides a continuous process which can be completely powered by the energy contained in the biomass. The heat, mechanical power and electrical power are provided from the energy in the biomass, through the methods described. In this way, the apparatus is free to operate in remote locations, where no power or auxiliary fuel sources are available.

BIOMASS GASIFICATION AND WASTE INCINERATION INTEGRATED FURNACE

Disclosed is a biomass gasification and waste incineration integrated furnace, which relates to the technical field of biomass gasification and waste incineration, and includes a waste incineration furnace chamber and a biomass gasification furnace chamber. A mutual contact region exists between the waste incineration furnace chamber and the biomass gasification furnace chamber, and heat transfer can be realized between the waste incineration furnace chamber and the biomass gasification furnace chamber. Heat generated by the waste incineration furnace chamber is used for conduction to the biomass gasification furnace chamber, and excess heat generated by the waste incineration can be supplied to the biomass gasification furnace chamber for reactions therein, thereby reducing the heat additionally used by the biomass gasification furnace chamber and saving energy consumption.

VARIOUS METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR MULTI-STAGE SYNTHESIS GAS GENERATION

A multiple stage synthesis gas generation system is disclosed including a high radiant heat flux reactor, a gasifier reactor control system, and a Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) reactor. The SMR reactor is in parallel and cooperates with the high radiant heat flux reactor to produce a high quality syngas mixture for MeOH synthesis. The resultant products from the two reactors may be used for the MeOH synthesis. The SMR provides hydrogen rich syngas to be mixed with the potentially carbon monoxide rich syngas from the high radiant heat flux reactor. The combination of syngas component streams from the two reactors can provide the required hydrogen to carbon monoxide ratio for methanol synthesis. The SMR reactor control system and a gasifier reactor control system interact to produce a high quality syngas mixture for the MeOH synthesis.
