Novel sit-stand seating devices, more particularly, to sit-stand seats or stools that can tilt forward to provide balanced support for seated to near-standing postures and methods of their use are disclosed. The sit-stand devices are useful, inter alia, to provide stabilized worker positioning to carry out a task for a range of sitting through standing postures in an environment associated with a task for a worker in need thereof.

The seat is configured to support the posterior thigh and/or buttocks of a seated user, the seat being configured to urge the hip of the seated user in a forward direction. The chest support is configured to support the chest of the seated user in a forward leaning position of the seated user. The hip support is configured to support the anterior hip of a seated user as the seat urges the seated user’s hip forwardly towards the hip support.

The detector stores a tilt angle threshold value and is configured to the carrying component to detect the tilt angle. The detector generates a warning signal when the tilt angle is not matched up with the tilt angle threshold value.

The height adjusting mechanism can be implemented to provide a height-adjustable seat back and/or a height-adjustable torso bar.

A knee support may be mounted to one of the elongate members. The desk top may define a side face having a groove extending about at least a portion of a perimeter of the desk top and the groove may be sized to receive a first fastener tab of an accessory.
