Apparatus for pyrolyzing waste plastic into fuel
An apparatus pyrolyzes waste plastics into fuel. The apparatus categorizes the waste plastic, and processes the categorized waste plastic to obtain kerosene, diesel fuel, gasoline etc. The apparatus includes a first heat exchange tank, a rough fuel storage tank, a second heat exchange tank, a diesel storage tank, and a kerosene storage tank. Combustible gas is extracted from the tanks via outlets thereof and stored in a gas storage tank. The combustible gas stored in the gas storage tank is fed into a combustion chamber of a pyrolysis furnace of the apparatus. A fuel-water separate tank is connected to the bottom of the rough fuel storage tank to separate fuel from water. The separated fuel is recycled into the combustion chamber to be burned again. Recycled paper with residual plastic films thereon has to be compressed into grains to facilitate a feeding operation.
PROCESSING MATERIALS
Biomass (e.g., plant biomass, animal biomass, and municipal waste biomass) is processed to produce useful intermediates and products, such as energy, fuels, foods or materials. For example, systems and methods are described that can be used to treat feedstock materials, such as cellulosic and/or lignocellulosic materials, while cooling equipment and the biomass to prevent overheating and possible distortion and/or degradation. The biomass is conveyed by a conveyor, which conveys the biomass under an electron beam from an electron beam accelerator. The conveyor can be cooled with cooling fluid. The conveyor can also vibrate to facilitate exposure to the electron beam. The conveyor can be configured as a trough that can be optionally cooled.
Lignin composition
The present invention relates to a process for producing a lignin composition, which process comprises: providing a lignin slurry comprising water and a water miscible organic solvent; subjecting the lignin slurry to extraction at an extraction temperature of less than 100 C. for an extraction time of at least 1 minute to provide an extracted slurry; removing liquid from the extracted slurry to provide an extracted lignin; and suspending the extracted lignin in a polar organic solvent to provide a lignin composition having a dry matter content of at least 30% by weight. The present invention also relates to a lignin composition comprising hardwood Kraft lignin and a polar organic solvent, which composition has a dry matter content of at least 30% by weight. The present invention also relates to use of the lignin composition as a fuel.

EQUIPMENT PROTECTING ENCLOSURES
Biomass (e.g., plant biomass, animal biomass, and municipal waste biomass) is processed to produce useful intermediates and products, such as energy, fuels, foods or materials. For example, systems and methods are described that can be used to treat feedstock materials, such as cellulosic and/or lignocellulosic materials, in a vault in which the equipment is protected from radiation and hazardous gases by equipment enclosures. The equipment enclosures may be purged with gas.

Systems and methods for processing mixed solid waste
Described are methods for processing mixed solid waste. The method includes providing a mixed solid waste stream including dry organic material comingled with wet organic and/or inorganic material. The mixed waste is shredded and then separated using size separation and density separation. The shredder has a cut size and rotation speed that produces less than 20% by mass of particles smaller than 2 inches from the mixed solid waste. The shredded mix solid waste is then separated by density and a portion of the stream is recovered as a recyclable or converted to a high value product.
Engineered fuel feed stock
Disclosed are novel engineered fuel feed stocks, feed stocks produced by the described processes, and methods of making the fuel feed stocks. Components derived from processed MSW waste streams can be used to make such feed stocks which are substantially free of glass, metals, grit and noncombustibles. These feed stocks are useful for a variety of purposes including as gasification and combustion fuels.

Solid fuel
To provide a solid fuel which uses waste wood, used paper, a binder, a form retaining agent and a caloric augmentation agent in a balanced manner, has a stable calorific value, and suppresses the production of carbon dioxide. A solid fuel which is formed from a mixture of wood pieces having a size of 1 to 50 mm, paper pieces having a size of 1 to 50 mm, a binder, a form retaining agent and a caloric augmentation agent, wherein the mixture contains the wood pieces and the paper/natural fiber pieces in a total amount of 15 to 45 parts by weight and the binder, the form retaining agent and the caloric augmentation agent in a total amount of 55 to 85 parts by weight, has a weight ratio of the wood pieces to the paper pieces of 20:80 to 80:20, and is molded.
