Chemical compositions and treatment systems and treatment methods using same for remediating H.SUB.2.S and other contaminants in gasses
A treatment composition for remediating for remediating H.sub.2S and other contaminant(s) in contaminated gasses comprising: an aqueous hydroxide solution containing at least one hydroxide compound at a collective concentration of 35-55 weight percent of the aqueous hydroxide solution; at least one organic acid selected from the group consisting of fulvic acid and humic acid; and a chelating agent, wherein the aqueous hydroxide solution constitutes at least 80 wt % of the treatment composition, the at least one organic acid constitutes 0.1-5 wt % of the treatment composition, the chelating agent constitutes 0.1-5 wt % of the treatment composition, and a pH of the treatment composition is at least 12.0.
MEMBRANE PERMEATE RECYCLE PROCESS FOR USE WITH PRESSURE SWING ADSORPTION PROCESSES
Process of treating a net gas stream is disclosed. The process includes sending the net gas stream to a compressor to produce a compressed gas stream. The compressed gas stream is then sent to a pressure swing adsorption unit to produce a hydrogen product stream and a tail gas stream. Tail gas stream from the pressure swing adsorption unit is sent to a first membrane unit to produce a first permeate stream and a first non-permeate stream. Portion of the tail gas stream is sent to a second membrane unit to produce a second permeate stream and a second non-permeate stream.
Gas capture system
Disclosed herein is a rotating packed bed, RPB, for mass transfer between a sorbent and a gas, the RPB comprising: a central chamber arranged to receive a flow of a sorbent that is a liquid; and a flow path for the sorbent between the central chamber and a region for mass transfer between a gas and the sorbent; wherein, in use, the flow of sorbent through the region for mass transfer is substantially in cross-flow with the flow of gas through the region for mass transfer. Advantageously, mass transfer between a liquid sorbent and a gas is improved.
Reservoir management by controlling acid gas build-up in reservoir by partial CO2 removal processes
Methods are provided for reducing the quantity of acid gas reinjected into a reservoir by partial CO.sub.2 removal processes. The methods include acid gas removal, acid gas enrichment, generation of a CO.sub.2 rich stream and an H.sub.2S rich stream, and reinjection of the H.sub.2S rich stream into the reservoir. The acid gas enrichment can be performed by a solvent-based acid gas enrichment unit, a membrane-based acid gas enrichment unit, or a combination of a solvent-based acid gas enrichment unit a and membrane-based acid gas enrichment unit. The system includes an acid gas removal unit, one or more acid gas enrichment units, and an acid gas reinjection compressor. The acid gas enrichment unit can be a solvent-based acid gas enrichment unit, a membrane-based acid gas enrichment unit, or a solvent-based acid gas enrichment unit and a membrane-based acid gas enrichment unit.
Method for producing biomethane by purifying biogas from non-hazardous waste storage facilities and facility for implementing the method
A method for producing biomethane by purifying biogas from non-hazardous waste storage facilities involves compressing the initial gas flow, introducing the gas flow to be purified into at least one adsorber loaded with adsorbents capable of reversibly adsorbing the VOCs, and subjecting the VOC-depleted gas flow to at least one membrane separation step in order to partially separate the CO.sub.2 and O.sub.2 from the gas flow. The method also involves introducing the retentate from the membrane separation step into at least one adsorber loaded with adsorbents capable of reversibly adsorbing the major portion of the remaining CO.sub.2, subjecting the CO.sub.2-depleted gas flow exiting the adsorber loaded with adsorbents capable of reversibly adsorbing the major portion of the remaining CO.sub.2 to a cryogenic separation step in a distillation column in order to separate the O.sub.2 and N.sub.2 from the gas flow, and recovering the CH.sub.4-rich flow from the cryogenic separation step.

The present invention relates to the extraction of gasoline from a gas G, with (a) a step of extracting gasoline from the gas to be treated comprising methanol GM obtained from step (d), (b) a step of separating said fluid GL1 partially condensed in step (a), producing a first aqueous liquid phase Al , a first liquid phase H1 of hydrocarbon(s) a gaseous phase G1 obtained from the gas G; (c) a step of contacting a portion of the gas G to be treated with said first aqueous liquid phase A1, producing a second aqueous liquid phase A2, a gaseous phase of gas to be treated comprising methanol GM; (d) a step of mixing said gaseous phase of gas to be treated comprising methanol GM with the remainder of the gas G to be treated, producing a gas to be treated comprising methanol GM, (e) a step of stabilizing said first liquid phase H1 of hydrocarbon(s).
APPARATUS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A DEACIDIFIED FLUID STREAM
A process for producing a deacidified fluid stream from a fluid stream comprising methanol and at least one acid gas, comprising a) an absorption step in which the fluid stream is contacted with an absorbent in an absorber to obtain an absorbent laden with methanol and acid gases and an least partly deacidified fluid stream; b) a regeneration step in which at least a portion of the laden absorbent obtained from step a) is regenerated in a regenerator to obtain an at least partly regenerated absorbent and a gaseous stream comprising methanol, water and at least one acid gas; c) a recycling step in which at least a substream of the regenerated absorbent from step b) is recycled into the absorption step a); d) a condensation step in which a condensate comprising methanol and water is condensed out of the gaseous stream from step b); e) a distillation step in which at least a portion of the condensate from step d) is guided into a distillation column to obtain a top stream comprising methanol and a bottom stream comprising water;
which comprises recycling at least a portion of the bottom stream from step e) into the regenerator.
An apparatus for deacidifying a fluid stream, comprising methanol and at least one acid gas, according to claim 1, comprising a) an absorber comprising an absorption zone, at least one feed for absorbent, a feed for the fluid stream to be deacidified, a liquid draw for the laden absorbent, a draw point for the deacidified fluid stream and optionally a rescrubbing zone with a feed for scrubbing agent; b) a regenerator comprising a regeneration zone, an evaporator, a feed for the laden absorbent, a liquid draw in the bottom of the regenerator and a gas draw in the top region of the regenerator; c) at least one top condenser connected to the gas draw of the regenerator, comprising a gas draw and a condensate outlet; and d) a distillation column comprising a condenser, an evaporator, a feed for the condensate outlet of the top condenser, a vapor draw in the top region of the column and a liquid draw at the bottom of the distillation column,
wherein the regenerator has a feed connected to the liquid draw at the bottom of the distillation column.
HEAVY HYDROCARBON REMOVAL FROM LEAN GAS TO LNG LIQUEFACTION
A system for processing a gas stream can include a physical solvent unit, an acid gas removal unit upstream or downstream of the physical solvent unit, and an LNG liquefaction unit downstream of the acid gas removal unit. The physical solvent unit is configured to receive a feed gas, remove at least a portion of any C.sub.5+ hydrocarbons in the feed gas stream using a physical solvent, and produce a cleaned gas stream comprising the feed gas stream with the portion of the C.sub.5+ hydrocarbons removed. The acid gas removal unit is configured to receive the cleaned gas stream, remove at least a portion of any acid gases present in the cleaned gas stream, and produce a treated gas stream. The LNG liquefaction unit is configured to receive the treated gas stream and liquefy at least a portion of the hydrocarbons in the treated gas stream.
SYSTEM FOR HIGH-VALUE UTILIZATION OF ORGANIC SOLID WASTE
A system for high-value utilization of organic solid waste includes an anaerobic digestion unit, a biogas measurement and collection unit and a methane purification and liquefaction unit. The anaerobic digestion unit includes an organic solid waste pretreatment system and an anaerobic digestion device. The biogas measurement and collection unit includes a gas flow meter and a high-pressure biogas collection device. The methane purification and liquefaction unit includes a high-pressure separation tank, a liquefaction pretreatment system, a heavy hydrocarbon and benzene removal device, a two-stage rectification system, a low-temperature pressure liquid storage tank device and a buffer storage tank. The organic solid waste undergoes an anaerobic digestion treatment to produce methane followed by collection, purification and liquefaction.
Chemical process for sulfur reduction of hydrocarbons
Treatment of hydrocarbon streams, and in one non-limiting embodiment refinery distillates, with reducing agents, such as borohydride and salts thereof, alone or together with at least one co-solvent results in reduction of the sulfur compounds such as disulfides, mercaptans, thiophenes, and thioethers that are present to give easily removed sulfides. In one non-limiting embodiment, the treatment converts the original sulfur compounds into hydrogen sulfide or low molecular weight mercaptans that can be extracted from the distillate with caustic solutions, hydrogen sulfide or mercaptan scavengers, solid absorbents such as clay or activated carbon or liquid absorbents such as amine-aldehyde condensates and/or aqueous aldehydes.
