METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PRODUCING A FUEL FROM BIOGAS
20210155864 · 2021-05-27 ·

A method for providing a fuel includes providing biogas from a plurality of biogas sources, the biogas from each biogas source produced in a process comprising filling a vessel with raw biogas or partially purified biogas to a pressure of at least 1500 psig and transporting the filled vessel to a centralized processing facility by vehicle. A fuel is produced in a fuel production process that includes feeding the biogas transported to the centralized processing facility to a biogas upgrading system that is configured to provide a carbon dioxide removed from the biogas. The removed carbon dioxide is provided for transport by vehicle and/or pipeline and/or sequestered to offset greenhouse gas emissions attributed to compressing the biogas for transport.

EXPERIMENTAL METHOD FOR COAL DESULFURIZATION AND DEASHING USING PERMEATION AND SOLVATING POWER OF A SUPERCRITICAL FLUID

An experimental method for coal desulfurization and deashing using permeation and solvating power of a supercritical fluid includes the following steps. The coal sample is ground and loaded into an extraction kettle with a cover. An inlet valve and an outlet valve of the extraction kettle are opened to circulate the supercritical CO.sub.2 fluid in the extraction kettle. The extraction kettle is sealed. By adjusting a temperature and a pressure in the extraction kettle, the supercritical CO.sub.2 fluid is kept at its critical point and permeates the coal sample to dissolve organic sulfur, inorganic sulfur and ash in the coal sample. The extraction kettle is depressurized, and the temperature in the extraction kettle is adjusted to gasify the supercritical CO.sub.2 fluid. The organic sulfur, the inorganic sulfur and part of the ash are separated from the supercritical CO.sub.2 fluid and precipitated at a bottom of the extraction kettle.

Systems and methods of producing a solid fuel composition are disclosed. In particular, systems and methods for producing a solid fuel composition by heating and mixing a solid waste mixture to a maximum temperature sufficient to melt the mixed plastics within the solid waste mixture is disclosed.

Method for reducing the content of saturated monoglycerides in a raw biodiesel

The present invention relates to a method for reducing the content of monoglycerides (MG), also called monoacylglycerides (MAG), especially of saturated monoglycerides (SMG), in a crude biodiesel (CB).

Integrated multi-stage solvent deasphalting and delayed coking process to produce high quality coke
10982153 · 2021-04-20 · ·

Process embodiments for producing high grade coke and fuel grade coke from residual oil comprises: introducing the residual oil and a first paraffinic solvent having a carbon number C.sub.n to a first solvent deasphalting unit to produce a high quality deasphalted oil (HQDAO) fraction and a first asphalt fraction; passing the HQDAO fraction to a delayed coker to produce green coke; passing at least a portion of the first asphalt fraction and a second paraffinic solvent carbon number of C.sub.n+1 to a second solvent deasphalting unit to produce a low quality deasphalted oil (LQDAO) fraction and a second asphalt fraction; and passing the LQDAO fraction to the delayed coker to produce the fuel grade coke.

Method of converting biomass

Increasing of the heating value of combustible biomass through hemicellulose extraction and subsequent press-drying is described. After hemicellulose extraction the remaining biomass is soft and easily press-dried to high dry content of up to 80%. The method involves the removal of most water binding hemicelluloses and retaining most of the lignin in the biomass. Lignin can either be retained in the biomass during the extraction or combining the lignin, which has been separated from the hemicellulose extract, with the extracted biomass.

Methods of refining a grain oil composition to make one or more grain oil products, and related systems

The present disclosure is related to refining one or more grain oil composition streams (e.g., distillers corn oil or syrup) in a biorefinery to provide one or more refined grain oil products, where each grain oil product has targeted amounts of a free fatty acid component and the fatty acid alkyl ester component.

Process for one-pot liquefaction of biomass or coal and biomass
10975312 · 2021-04-13 ·

Disclosed is a process for the one-pot liquefaction of a biomass or coal and a biomass, the process comprising: first preparing a slurry containing a catalyst, a vulcanizing agent and a biomass (and coal), and then introducing hydrogen gas into the slurry to carry out a reaction. Preparing the slurry comprises: subjecting a biomass (and coal) sequentially to drying, a first pulverization, compression and a second pulverization, then mixing same with a catalyst and a vulcanizing agent to obtain a mixture, and adding the mixture to an oil product for grinding and pulping to obtain a biomass slurry. By means of the treatment process of subjecting the straw firstly to compression and then to a second pulverization, the volume of the straw is greatly reduced, thereby facilitating the dispersion thereof in the oil product.

Compositions and Methods for Production of Carbonized Pellets from Biomass

Methods are provided for simple and efficient carbonization of cellulosic and/or lignin-containing materials to generate a char suitable for use as a pellet fuel. Cellulosic and/or lignin-containing waste materials can be suspended in water with a catalyst and, optionally, a carbonate and heated to generate a char. This char can be dried and formed into carbonized pellets suitable for use as fuel.
