Conversion of solid waste into syngas and hydrogen

The method and plant (1) for conversing solid recovered fuel pellets (117) made from municipal solid waste (103) allow the transformation of the municipal solid waste (103) into hydrogen with a high yield instead of landfilling or incinerating the municipal solid waste (103). The hydrogen rich product gas stream (601) can be used as feedstock for chemical reactions or for storing energy in a releasable manner.

Absorbent for selective removal of hydrogen sulfide from a fluid stream

An absorbent for selective removal of hydrogen sulfide from a fluid stream comprises an aqueous solution of a) a tertiary amine, b) a sterically hindered secondary amine of the general formula (I) ##STR00001##
in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently selected from C.sub.1-4-alkyl and C.sub.1-4-hydroxyalkyl; R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are each independently selected from hydrogen, C.sub.1-4-alkyl and C.sub.1-4-hydroxyalkyl, with the proviso that at least one R.sub.4 and/or R.sub.5 radical on the carbon atom bonded directly to the nitrogen atom is C.sub.1-4-alkyl or C.sub.1-4-hydroxyalkyl when R.sub.3 is hydrogen; x and y are integers from 2 to 4 and z is an integer from 1 to 4; where the molar ratio of b) to a) is in the range from 0.05 to 1.0, and c) an acid in an amount, calculated as neutralization equivalent relative to the protonatable nitrogen atoms in a) and b), of 0.05 to 15.0%. One preferred amine of the formula I is 2-(2-tert-butylaminoethoxy)ethanol. The absorbent allows a defined H.sub.2S selectivity to be set at pressures of the kind typical in natural gas processing.

An aromatic imine blend includes an aromatic imine and a de-foaming agent, surfactant, amine, hydrotrope, alcohol, amino acid, ether, alkalinity stabilizer, or a combination thereof. A process of removing carbon dioxide or a sulfide from oil, water, or natural gas includes supplying an oil, water, or natural gas stream and contacting the oil, water, or natural gas stream with an aromatic amine blend. The aromatic imine blend includes an aromatic imine and a de-foaming agent, surfactant, amine, hydrotrope, alcohol, amino acid, ether, alkalinity stabilizer, or a combination thereof.

Integrated system for wet desulfurization using a suspension bed and regeneration

Provided is an integrated system for wet desulfurization using a suspension bed and regeneration, comprising a suspension bed reactor, a gas liquid separation tank, a flash evaporation tank and an oxidation regeneration tank that are connected in sequence. The integrated system is adapted to reduce the sulfur content in the hydrogen sulfide containing gas from 2.4-140 g/Nm.sup.3 to 50 ppm or less by using a suspension bed, so that the desulfurization efficiency is 98% or more. The present invention is adapted to realize regeneration of a spent desulfurizer by reacting an oxygen-containing gas with the rich solution, and the barren solution may be recycled for being used as the desulfurization slurry, without generating secondary pollution. Therefore, a process using the integrated system is simple and reasonable, with high desulfurization and regeneration efficiency, simple equipment, little occupation of land and low investment, which is very suitable for industrial promotion.

Preparation of new stable hydrogen sulfide scavengers useful in both water as well as oil medium applications

The disclosure provides compositions and methods that are useful in removing, lowering, or otherwise controlling hydrogen sulfide and mercaptans. The compositions and methods can be used in any industry where hydrogen sulfide poses problems, such as when dealing with crude oil based, natural gas based, and/or coal based products. In some embodiments, the compositions include one or more alkoxylated amino formaldehyde adducts.

IN-LINE PIPE CONTACTOR

A method of removing impurities from formation fluids includes introducing a formation fluid into a first end of a first tubular, directing the formation fluid along a first flow path toward a second end of the first tubular, redirecting the formation fluid along a second flow path defined by a second tubular arranged radially outwardly of the first flow path toward the first end, spraying a treatment fluid along the first flow path into the formation fluid, and directing a treated formation fluid through an outlet fluidically connected to the second flow path.

IN-LINE PIPE CONTACTOR

An in-line pipe contactor includes a first tubular having an outer surface and an inner surface. The inner surface defines a first flow path and the outer surface defines, in part, a second flow path. A second tubular is arranged radially outwardly of the first tubular. The second tubular includes an outer surface portion and an inner surface portion. The inner surface portion defines at least in part, the second flow path. A first end cap is mounted at the first end. The first end cap supports a first plurality of atomizers. At least one of the first plurality of atomizers is directed along the first flow path. A second end cap is mounted at the second end portion. The second end cap supports a second plurality of atomizers.
