Cement slurries, cured cements and methods of making and use thereof

Cement slurries, cured cements, and methods of making cured cement and methods of using cement slurries are provided. The cement slurry contains water, a cement precursor material, an alcohol surfactant having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and a carboxylic acid comprising an aliphatic chain having from 16 to 18 carbons. In some embodiments, the alcohol surfactant may comprise the formula R—(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.x—OH where R is a hydrocarbyl group having from 10 to 20 carbons and x is an integer from 1 to 10. The cured cement contains water, cement, an alcohol surfactant having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and a carboxylic acid comprising an aliphatic chain having from 16 to 18 carbons. In some embodiments, the alcohol surfactant may comprise the formula R—(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.x—OH where R is a hydrocarbyl group having from 10 to 20 carbons and x is an integer from 1 to 10.

Cement slurries, cured cements and methods of making and use thereof

Cement slurries, cured cements, and methods of making cured cement and methods of using cement slurries are provided. The cement slurry contains water, a cement precursor material, an alcohol surfactant having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and a carboxylic acid comprising an aliphatic chain having from 16 to 18 carbons. In some embodiments, the alcohol surfactant may comprise the formula R—(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.x—OH where R is a hydrocarbyl group having from 10 to 20 carbons and x is an integer from 1 to 10.

FURAN BASED COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF

Disclosed herein are processes for the preparation of compounds of formula (I) from one or more bio-derived reactants, and their use as base oils:

wherein a and c are independently 0 or 1, b and d are independently 1 or 2, x and y are independently 1 or 2, dependent upon the values of a-d, m and o are independently 0 or 1, n is an integer of 0-6, and each A is independently an unsaturated furan ring, a partially saturated furan ring, a saturated furan ring, or (CH.sub.2).sub.4. Also, R.sub.1, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently selected from the group consisting of H and alkyl groups having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, with a proviso that at least one of R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and R.sub.5 is not hydrogen, and the total carbon content of the compound of formula (I) is in the range of 20-62.

FURAN BASED COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF

Disclosed herein are processes for the preparation of compounds of formula (I) from one or more bio-derived reactants, and their use as base oils:

wherein a and c are independently 0 or 1, b and d are independently 1 or 2, x and y are independently 1 or 2, dependent upon the values of a-d, m and o are independently 0 or 1, n is an integer of 0-6, and each A is independently an unsaturated furan ring, a partially saturated furan ring, a saturated furan ring, or (CH.sub.2).sub.4. Also, R.sub.1, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently selected from the group consisting of H and alkyl groups having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, with a proviso that at least one of R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and R.sub.5 is not hydrogen, and the total carbon content of the compound of formula (I) is in the range of 20-62.

Grease composition

Provided is a grease composition including a thickener and a base oil, in which the thickener is a urea compound represented by formula (1)

wherein R2 represents a divalent C.sub.6-15 aromatic hydrocarbon group, and R1 and R3 may be the same or different and each represent an C.sub.8-22 alkyl group, a cyclohexyl group, or an C.sub.6-12 aryl group, and as the base oil, one or more types of a compound represented by formula (2) are contained at 40% by mass or more relative to a total mass of the base oil, wherein R4 and R5 may be the same or different and each represent a linear or branched C.sub.10-26 alkyl group, where m and n are real numbers being 0 or more which satisfy m+n=2.

Grease composition

Provided is a grease composition including a thickener and a base oil, in which the thickener is a urea compound represented by formula (1)

wherein R2 represents a divalent C.sub.6-15 aromatic hydrocarbon group, and R1 and R3 may be the same or different and each represent an C.sub.8-22 alkyl group, a cyclohexyl group, or an C.sub.6-12 aryl group, and as the base oil, one or more types of a compound represented by formula (2) are contained at 40% by mass or more relative to a total mass of the base oil, wherein R4 and R5 may be the same or different and each represent a linear or branched C.sub.10-26 alkyl group, where m and n are real numbers being 0 or more which satisfy m+n=2.

Development of anti-bit balling fluids

Anti-bit balling drilling fluids and methods of making and using drilling fluids are provided. The anti-bit balling drilling fluid contains water, a clay-based component, and at least one of a surfactant having the formula: R(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.xOH, where R is a hydrocarbyl group having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and x is an integer from 1 and 10, or a polyethylene glycol having the formula: H(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.nOH, where n is an integer from 1 to 50. Methods of making and using these drilling fluids are also provided.

Development of anti-bit balling fluids

Anti-bit balling drilling fluids and methods of making and using drilling fluids are provided. The anti-bit balling drilling fluid contains water, a clay-based component, and at least one of a surfactant having the formula: R(OC.sub.2H.sub.4).sub.xOH, where R is a hydrocarbyl group having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms and x is an integer from 1 and 10, or a polyethylene glycol having the formula: H(OCH.sub.2CH.sub.2).sub.nOH, where n is an integer from 1 to 50. Methods of making and using these drilling fluids are also provided.

SPACER FLUIDS AND CEMENT SLURRIES THAT INCLUDE SURFACTANTS

According to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, a well bore cementing system may comprise a spacer fluid and a cement slurry. The spacer fluid may be positioned within a well bore, and the spacer fluid may comprise a first surfactant package comprising one or more surfactants. The cement slurry may be positioned within the well bore, and the cement slurry may comprise a second surfactant package comprising one or more surfactants.

SPACER FLUIDS AND CEMENT SLURRIES THAT INCLUDE SURFACTANTS

According to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, a well bore cementing system may comprise a spacer fluid and a cement slurry. The spacer fluid may be positioned within a well bore, and the spacer fluid may comprise a first surfactant package comprising one or more surfactants. The cement slurry may be positioned within the well bore, and the cement slurry may comprise a second surfactant package comprising one or more surfactants.
