Lube base oil comprising X-type diester acid dimer and method for preparing the same
The present invention relates to a preparation method of a lube base oil including a conversion of biomass fat to a fatty acid; a separation of a C18 unsaturated fatty acid from the fatty acid; a maximization of an oleic acid content through partial hydrotreating of the C18 unsaturated fatty acid; a synthesis of a dimer or higher-order oligomer through an oligomerization of the oleic acid; and an esterification of the oligomer, and relates to a lube base oil prepared therefrom. The lube base oil of the present invention contains an x-type diester dimer and has an excellent low-temperature stability and a high biodegradability resulting from its chemical structure, thus being ecofriendly.

Viscosity Index Improver Concentrates
A viscosity index improver containing, in diluent oil, one or more optionally functionalized linear block copolymers having at least one block derived from alkenyl arene covalently linked to at least one block derived from diene in an amount that is greater than the critical overlap concentration (c.sub.h*), in mass %, for the linear block copolymers in the diluent oil; and ester base stock and/or at least one star (or radial) polymer, the star polymer being present in an amount such that the c/c.sub.h* value of the star polymer in the concentrate falls within the range of from 0.01 to about 1.6, wherein c is the concentration in mass % of star polymer in the concentrate and c.sub.h* is the critical overlap concentration in mass % for the star polymer in the diluent oil used to form the concentrate.

Lubricant base stock
The present invention relates to a lubricant base stock, a lubricant composition, a method of lubricating an object and the use of a lubricant base stock. The lubricant base stock comprises a first ester which is the reaction product of: a first polyol comprising at least 3 hydroxyl groups; a first mono-carboxylic acid comprising from 4 to 18 carbon atoms; and a poly-carboxylic acid comprising at least 2 carboxyl groups and comprising from 20 to 60 carbon atoms. The lubricant base stock also comprises a second ester which is the reaction product of: a second polyol comprising at least 3 hydroxyl groups; and a second mono-carboxylic acid comprising from 4 to 18 carbon atoms.
Hydraulic Fluid and Lubricant Compositions Using Biodiesel
A composition and method of making hydraulic fluids and lubricants using biodiesel as a blending component or base oil. Preferably around 0.1 to 45% of biodiesel is used as a blending component in a hydraulic fluid or as a base oil or additive in a lubricant. The use of biodiesel has environmental and cost advantages over other blending components or base oils. Lubricants and hydraulic fluids having ISO viscosity grades as low as 22 and 32 may be achieved by the use of biodiesel, while still meeting applicable standards for environmental acceptability.
GREASE COMPOSITION, ROLLING BEARING, AND MOTOR
A grease composition according to an embodiment includes a base oil, a thickener and 0.5% by weight or more of a dispersing agent, the dispersing agent including at least one of a carboxylic acid metal salt, a metal salt of a polycarboxylic acid and a copolymer of a carboxylic acid metal salt and a hydrocarbon compound.
TETRAFLUOROPROPENE COMPOSITIONS AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to compositions for use in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and heat pump systems wherein the composition comprises a tetrafluoropropene and at least one other component. The compositions of the present invention are useful in processes for producing cooling or heat, as heat transfer fluids, foam blowing agents, aerosol propellants, and fire suppression and fire extinguishing agents.
