A lubricating and cooling fluid for an electric motor system including a lubricating base oil, at least one sulfurized component, a dispersant system comprising at least two dispersants, and a friction modifier system comprising at least two friction modifiers. The lubricating and cooling fluid provides good wear and friction performance as well as good copper corrosion and electrical conductivity for use in electric motor system.

Lubricating oil compositions
A lubricating oil composition which contains, or is made by admixing: (A) an oil of lubricating viscosity, in a major amount; (B) at least one oil-soluble or oil-dispersible sulfurized fatty acid ester, as an additive in an amount providing the lubricating oil composition with greater than or equal to 0.02 mass % sulphur; and, (C) at least one oil-soluble or oil-dispersible alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salicylate detergent, as an additive in an effective minor amount, providing greater than or equal to 5 mmol of salicylate soap per kilogram of the lubricating oil composition,
wherein the lubricating oil composition does not contain a phosphorus ester additive.
Lubricating oil compositions
A lubricating oil composition which contains, or is made by admixing: (A) an oil of lubricating viscosity, in a major amount; (B) at least one oil-soluble or oil-dispersible sulfurized fatty acid ester, as an additive in an amount providing the lubricating oil composition with greater than or equal to 0.02 mass % sulphur; and, (C) at least one oil-soluble or oil-dispersible alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salicylate detergent, as an additive in an effective minor amount, providing greater than or equal to 5 mmol of salicylate soap per kilogram of the lubricating oil composition,
wherein the lubricating oil composition does not contain a phosphorus ester additive.
Metalworking oil composition
Disclosed is a metalworking oil composition containing: at least one base oil (A) selected from a mineral oil and a synthetic oil; sulfurized oils and fats (B) having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 60 mm.sup.2/s or more and 1,600 mm.sup.2/s or less; and a polymer (C) of an unsaturated fatty acid having a carbon number of 10 or more.
Metalworking oil composition
Disclosed is a metalworking oil composition containing: at least one base oil (A) selected from a mineral oil and a synthetic oil; sulfurized oils and fats (B) having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. of 60 mm.sup.2/s or more and 1,600 mm.sup.2/s or less; and a polymer (C) of an unsaturated fatty acid having a carbon number of 10 or more.
Grease composition, method for manufacturing grease composition, and method for using grease composition
Provided is a grease composition which is excellent in fire extinguishing performance without water and can suppress fuming, malodor, and liquefaction on burning and a method for producing the grease composition. A grease composition contains a base oil (A), a thickener (B), and a fire retardant (C), wherein the base oil (A) contains a base oil (A1) having a 40° C. kinematic viscosity of 300 mm.sup.2/s or more, a sulfur content of 20 ppm by mass or less, and an initial boiling point of 400° C. or higher, the fire retardant (C) is at least one of aluminum hydroxide (C1) and 1,3,5-triazine-1,3,5 (2H, 4H, 6H)-tris(ethanol) (C2), and a content of the fire retardant (C) is 1.0 to 12.0 mass % based on a total amount of the grease composition.

Cylinder lubricating oil composition for crosshead diesel engine
(1) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, the composition having: a sulfated ash content of 2.0 to 5.5 mass %; a base number of 15 to 45 mgKOH/g; and an autoignition temperature of no less than 262° C. (2) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, comprising: a lubricant base oil; (B) a Ca sulfonate detergent having a base number of no less than 10 mgKOH/g and less than 60 mgKOH/g; (C) a Ca phenate detergent having a base number of 55 to 200 mgKOH/g; (D′) an amine antioxidant; and (E′) a zinc dithiophosphate, wherein the composition has a base number of no less than 15 mgKOH/g and less than 120 mgKOH/g.
DISTILLATION PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A LOW TPP PHENATE
Disclosed herein is a process for preparing a sulfurized non-overbased calcium phenate detergent having a reduced content of un-sulfurized alkyl-substituted phenol and its salt. The process steps involve adding an organic solvent to the detergent, wherein the organic solvent has a boiling point of equal or above the boiling point of the un-sulfurized alkyl-substituted phenol. Distilling the organic solvent from the detergent to reduce the content of the un-sulfurized alkyl-substituted phenol.
