METALWORKING OIL COMPOSITION
Disclosed is a metalworking oil composition containing: at least one base oil (A) selected from a mineral oil and a synthetic oil; sulfurized oils and fats (B) having a kinematic viscosity at 40 C. of 60 mm.sup.2/s or more and 1,600 mm.sup.2/s or less; and a polymer (C) of an unsaturated fatty acid having a carbon number of 10 or more.

An ashless lubricating oil having a lubricating oil base stock as a major component, and a mixture of (i) at least one ashless antiwear additive, (ii) at least one ashless detergent, and (iii) at least one aminic antioxidant, as minor components. The lubricating oil base stock is a monoester obtained by a) reacting one Guerbet alcohol of 8 to 20 carbon atoms with a Guerbet acid, a linear or branched acid of 6 to 20 carbon atoms or b) reacting one linear or branched alcohol with at least 6 to 20 carbon atoms with a Guerbet acid of 8 to 20 carbon atoms. The lubricating oil base stock is present in an amount from 30 to 99.8 wt. % of the oil. A method for improving oxidative stability and high temperature stability of a lubricating oil in an engine or other mechanical component lubricated with the lubricating oil by using the ashless lubricating oil.

Also provided are methods of making estolide-based grease products.

CYLINDER LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION FOR CROSSHEAD DIESEL ENGINE
(1) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, the composition having a sulfated ash content of 2.0 to 5.5 mass %; a base number of 15 to 45 mgKOH/g; and an autoignition temperature of no less than 262? C. (2) A cylinder lubricating oil composition for a crosshead diesel engine, comprising: a lubricant base oil; (B) a Ca sulfonate detergent having a base number of no less than 10 mgKOH/g and less than 60 mgKOH/g; (C) a Ca phenate detergent having a base number of 55 to 200 mgKOH/g; (D) an amine antioxidant; and (E) a zinc dithiophosphate, wherein the composition has a base number of no less than 15 mgKOH/g and less than 120 mgKOH/g.
