LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine including: (A) a lubricant base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100 C. of 2 to 8 mm.sup.2/s and having an aromatic content of no more than 10 mass %; (B) a metallic detergent including: (B1) a metallic detergent overbased with calcium carbonate; and (B2) a metallic detergent overbased with magnesium carbonate; and (C) a molybdenum sulfide dithiocarbamate or a molybdenum oxysulfide dithiocarbamate, wherein the composition has, on the basis of the total mass of the composition, a calcium content of no more than 1500 mass ppm, a magnesium content of no less than 300 mass ppm, and a molybdenum content of no less than 600 mass ppm; and the composition has an HTHS viscosity at 150 C. of no more than 2.7 mPa.Math.s.
NON-FLAMMABLE AEROSOL MULTIUSE INVERT EMULSION LUBRICANT
Stable water-in-oil emulsions suitable for use as fire-resistant aerosol multipurpose lubricants. The water-in-oil emulsion comprises a synthetic ester base oil, compatible invert emulsifier, water, and a preservative. The aerosol apparatus employs a larger than standard stem orifice to produce a non-flammable aerosol.

An additive for lubricating oil may include a phosphite ester compound (A) having a specific structure and a phosphite ester compound (B) having a specific structure, wherein the (A):(B) mass ratio of the phosphite ester compound (A) to the phosphite ester compound (B) is in a range of from 99:1 to 80:20. Such an additive may be provided to a lubricating oil, capable of imparting wear resistance and demulsibility with respect to a base oil for lubricating oil, and to impart durability even in the presence of water.

The present invention provides a steel wire rod having a lubricating coating film, which can achieve both workabilities such as wire drawability, spike property and ball ironing property, and corrosion resistance such as long-term rust prevention property; and a method for producing the same. Disclosed are a steel wire rod having a coating film containing no phosphorus, wherein the coating film includes a lower layer coating film composed of oxide and/or hydroxide of zirconium and having a film thickness of 1.0 to 200 nm, and an upper layer coating film containing silicon and tungsten, in order from a steel wire rod side, a mass ratio of tungsten/silicon being in a range of 1.3 to 18; and a method for producing the above steel wire rod, which includes bringing an aqueous chemical conversion treatment solution, which has a pH in a range of 2.5 to 5.0 and contains a water-soluble zirconium compound dissolved therein, into contact with a surface of a steel wire rod to form a lower layer coating film.
LOW CONDUCTIVITY LUBRICATING OILS FOR ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLES
Provided is a lubricating oil for electric and hybrid vehicles. The lubricating oil includes at least 80 wt % of a lubricating base oil, 0.5 to 5 wt % of one or more dispersants, 0 to 4 wt % of one or more neutral metal detergents, 0 to 1.5 wt % of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, 0 to 0.2 wt % of molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, 0 to 2 wt % of an active viscosity modifier, and 0.01 to 5 wt % of one or more other lubricating oil additives. The lubricating oil is essentially free of overbased metal detergents. The lubricating oil has an electrical conductivity from 50 to 3,000 pS/m and a kinematic viscosity from 2 to 20 cSt at 100 C. This disclosure also relates to methods for producing the lubricating oil, methods for lubricating electric and hybrid vehicles, and methods for controlling electrical conductivity of a lubricating oil by using conductivity promoters and conductivity inhibitors.
HIGH CONDUCTIVITY LUBRICATING OILS FOR ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLES
Provided is a lubricating oil for electric and hybrid vehicles. The lubricating oil has a composition including at least 80 wt % of a lubricating base oil, from 0.8 to 5 wt % of one or more metal detergents, from 0 to 5 wt % of one or more dispersants, from 0 to 1.5 wt % of zinc dialkyldithiophosphate antiwear agent, from 0 to 0.2 wt % of a molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate, from 0 to 2 wt % of a viscosity modifier based on active ingredient, and from 0.01 to 5 wt % of other lubricating oil additives. The lubricating oil has an electrical conductivity from 3,000 to 20,000 pS/m, and kinematic viscosity from 2 to 20 cSt at 100 C. This disclosure also relates to methods for producing the lubricating oil, methods for lubricating electric and hybrid vehicles, and methods for controlling electrical conductivity of a lubricating oil by using conductivity promoters and conductivity inhibitors.
LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITIONS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE POWERTRAINS
This disclosure relates to a lubricating oil for an electric vehicle powertrain and powertrain components. The lubricating oil has a composition including a lubricating base oil as a major component, an additive package, as a minor component, and an effective amount of one or more conductivity agents, as a minor component. The lubricating oil has an electrical conductivity from about 10 pS/m to about 20,000 pS/m, a dielectric constant of about 1.6 to about 3.6, with a ratio of electrical conductivity-to-dielectric constant from about 5 to about 10,000. This disclosure also relates to methods for producing a lubricating oil for an electric vehicle powertrain and powertrain components.
LOW ASH LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION
A lubricating oil composition is provided. The composition includes major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity, or more alkaline earth metal detergent, one or more nitrogen-containing dispersant, and up to about 0.10 wt % of zinc from zinc dithiophosphate. The lubricating oil composition has sulfur content of up to 0.10 wt %, sulfated ash content of up to 0.30 wt %, and the ratio of total nitrogen concentration to total alkaline earth metal concentration from the one or more alkaline earth metal detergent is about 20 or greater.

Provided are a lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine capable of preventing a deterioration of the combustion state of a spark-ignition internal combustion engine, specifically, a lubricating oil composition to be used for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine in which a total tension per piston of tensions applied to the piston ring is 100 N or less, the lubricating oil composition being a lubricating oil composition including a base oil, (A) a calcium-based detergent, at least one selected from (B1) a sodium-based additive and (B2) a magnesium-based additive, and (C) an ash-free sulfur-based additive in predetermined contents; a method for producing the lubricating oil composition; a spark-ignition internal combustion engine using the lubricating oil composition; and a method for lubricating the internal combustion engine.
