AUTOMATIC SAFETY LOCKING DEVICE FOR WALL BEDS
There is provided an automatic locking device for mounting to a wall-bed having a frame portion anchored to a wall and resting on a floor and having a pivotable mattress support portion adapted to be pivoted to upright storage position and to a deployed horizontal position as a sleeping surface. The automatic locking mechanism being mounted to the bed frame portion anchored to a wall and being automatically actuated by any sudden forward tipping movement of the frame portion should it become dislodged from the wall while the mattress support portion is in its deployed horizontal position. Also provided is a wall bed and kit comprising the automatic locking device of the present invention.

Horizontal frame supports or arms are coupled to support T-brackets which are installed where desired on the vertical frame reinforcements. The vertical frame reinforcements are secured where desired to the wall frame via top and bottom L-shaped frame brackets. The horizontal frame supports are longitudinally elongate and include support trusses extending and coupled therebetween to support an assembly (e.g., a bed assembly including at least a mattress with a platform or a box spring). For example, there may be six trusses for a parallel arrangement and eight trusses for a perpendicular arrangement.

CONVERTIBLE MURPHY BED WITH STORAGE
A Murphy bed having a vertical configuration and a horizontal configuration. The bed can be converted into a futon or couch. A substantially planar, rectilinear platform is provided with predetermined dimensions. Retractable, lockable, slidable components are operatively connected to the platform. A substantially planar, rectilinear backrest with at least one dimension substantially equal to one of the predetermined dimensions of the platform is connected to the platform by means of a set of flexible fasteners at a plurality of spaced apart locations. A couch seat is provided having an upper surface and a lower surface. A mechanism is supported by the lower surface of the couch seat for retaining and storing personal items. Retractable support means are provided for supporting the couch when the bed is in a horizontal position.
